went through a trouble shooting process on my rear driver door lock this weekend. wish I would've seen this thread first! ended up being a different issue than the motor though, the plastic arm was cracked on the backside of the the post (see red arrow). pulled the arm off, slathered with some red loctite on there as a bandaid, have ordered a replacement mechanism so I'll be ready when it fails again.

reason #9,272 why I love my land cruiser...

I just snagged the LEFT REAR and LEFT RIGHT. They're $38.79 each or so right now!

just read the first page of this thread, this is some intense deep down on the inner workings of a tlc wouldn't expect any less from the OP.

stuff like this is what makes me like vehicles with manual locks, windows and no sunroofs- not that we had much of a choice in North America. But this philosophy seems to be what makes me grimace when people buy an older 4X4 and are pumped about all the options- automatic locks, sunroofs etc is all stuff that could break down and be a real PITA to fix, also the type of stuff manufacturers will stop producing less replacement parts for.

sorry for the tangent , just got carried away.

So when the electric motor fails and you have to resort to manually operating the door locks it's a WIN for you. :hillbilly:

Thanks all for motivating me to fix my lock. It was intermittent, then stopped. Motor was ok, but the old grease was gumming it up.

Note to self: pay attention to the steps. I had to take off the door panel twice to put back parts as I found them. :(

I should've taken a pic of the hack job I made for a broken clip. I cut a wire butt connector for a bushing and zip tied it on both sides. It will be permanent until I need to pull the mechanism again for the next repair.

My pass rear door lock mailed it in after 23 years. All other doors lock/unlock via remote and power button.

Ordered the Aisin rear units from rockauto - thx for the tip! I guess I'll keep one as a working spare. I'm actually thinking about tackling this replacement job myself. omg

Anyone have the front actuator OEM or Aisin equivalent part #s handy? I'm curious how much they cost and whether Toyota still supplies them. Thanks.

Ordered the OEM rear units at $64 each from partsouq, though I could've gone with the rockauto Aisin units for a bit cheaper (thanks for the tip). I guess I'll keep one of them as a working spare. I'm actually thinking about tackling this replacement job myself. omg

Fronts are NLA.

Can someone in the know pls confirm that these parts are identical?

I'll let you know when I receive it. I just ordered the last DLT-088 from Rockauto about an hour ago :).

I am under the impression the Aisin on is the exact same as the Toyota one that is OEM in the truck. Amazon also has the Aisin ones for about $10 more than Rockauto.

I'm hoping that's the case, thanks! Rockauto site displays the correct Toyota part numbers when you add them to the cart. I canceled my partsouq order (they couldn't ship out until after 1/6).

Yes same thing. Pro-tip: DLT088 is also for the rear hatch. I just did all 3 a few months ago using Rockauto.

Just got the parts from rockauto.

Interesting to note the DLT-088 or 69140-60010 or driver side actuator is made in jpn with a 7/2019 indicated date.

DLT-089 or 69130-60010 or passenger side actuator is from mx with a 2018 indicated date.

I couldn't find any visual markings on either part that denoted country of origin. I have no idea whether the pricier Toyota equivalent parts are both made in jpn, though partsouq's pic shows pass side is in fact a jpn manufactured part.

I'm guessing the rockauto/aisin driver side actuator was $3 more (compared to pass) because it's made in jpn and interchangeable with the rear hatch. (shrug)

From this purchase I've learned first hand that just because it's made by Aisin for the 80 doesn't mean it's made in jpn and may or may not be the same part direct from Toyota. No surprise since Toyota sources the oil filter and spark plugs from Thailand these days. I'm curious as to how many original 80s parts are not made in jpn.

I think it is just luck of the draw where any parts order is pulled from. We both ordered the same parts, from Rockauto, within probably 24 hours of each other, and the DLT-089 I received was Made in Japan.

Identical, as far as I could tell. same manufacturing details, likely from the actual same factory.

Just pulled the failed door lock motor! PITA!

And it’s the same as the rock auto lock I just bought! Did someone already replace these motors with ASINs and they already failed?

Does anyone have a photo of the OEM part to compare?
