So Julie sold her place back in July and also did upholstery for boats as well. She however did tell the truth about selling her house and was going to be in an RV for about six weeks. However when you call it goes straight to voicemail and doesn’t respond to text messages.
At first I was really hoping to get the top at some future point but know I’m starting to think it’s not going to happen. This really upsets me and I really want to track her down and attempt to recover my money. I honestly don’t know what to do from here. She’s ripped off so many of us and I really don’t want to sit here and let that s*** happen.

If she owns property you can file a lien against it after receiving a court decision. Depending on the state dollar amount limitations you might have to go thru small claims court.
Yes I know this sucks to have to go thru (been there done that). I’m still waiting on an individual to sell their property in FL that I have a lien on. It accrues 6% interest.
I’ve heard you can file a 1099 w/ IRS on Julie. I don’t know what info you’d have to have to do this??? Or if this is legal?
I’m starting to see a complacency trend in this community that for some reason continues to allow this kind of behavior from vendors. WitsEnd comes to mind as does another vendor currently on MUD still doing business who has MULTIPLE Bad Seller threads w/ a specific communication portal 4.0.
I feel sorry for anyone who’s lost money to these crooks!
I’m just glad I didn’t take my 45 to Julie’s shop and leave it so she could take measurements for the front cab/rear bed soft top covers!!!

Recently ran across a gent selling some parts from his FJ40. He had both the door panels and top door braces for $10. I was thinking that the parts are perfect to build a soft top for my FJ45 along with some tubing. I hate to re-invent the wheel so have to ask if anyone has made a soft top and...

Damn it...I was really hoping she'd make good on the orders and down payments she took. Not many options out there.
I spoke with someone today after I posted the comment today that used to work with her or for her. The individual said that Julie came by about a month ago to handle some things in the past are something along those lines. The individual also said Julie had a new number and would text her the number but never did. The individual said they didn’t leave in good terms about 4 years ago and has no idea where Julie is currently.
That being said I’m not sure if Julie has a new number that we aren’t aware of or the individual hasn’t talked to Julie for awhile until Julie showed up at her house. Either way she said if she runs into Julie she will inform her of it.
So let’s hope something good comes out of this.

I've tried texting and calling her for months with no reply. After dealing with OCD and now her and Real Steel closing up I'm done with trying to make the soft top business work. It's way more of a headache than it's worth. Just way too much drama.

Do you have knowledge that they are closed, never to re-open? I think a lot of us are still holding out hoping their operation & website open back up. The website alludes to a temporary shut down. Just curious if you know the real story.

I talked with Todd today. He is still in business but right now mainly just making parts in bulk for the bigger vendors. He is on the fence if he will get back to small runs.
Interesting. Curious who his bigger vendors are that are re-selling his stuff. Isn't CCOT really the only other vendor out there offering sheet metal domestically? You have the import offerings from South America and now China, just trying to figure out who he is selling parts to for resale so we know where to go if we need something. I'd love to buy some FST Bow parts....
Todd must have an email inbox full of thousands of unread or unresponded to emails, same goes for the business phone voicemail. There are a few messages in both of them from me....

I’m currently looking to buy the windshield header piece. Ordered one on Relik’s site (presumed TROA seller in south Florida) 13 days ago. Haven’t heard a peep from them. Not surprised as reviews on that business are 50-50

By windshield header piece, do you mean the channel that the soft top/bikini whatever slides into? Or the header that goes over the door and connects the windshield frame to the A pillar?

Im looking to buy both headers mentioned, but not paying dometically produced prices for South American produced products. I get it, supply vs demand, but thats just my personal position. Ive received a quote from TROA for the parts, and will continue to wait to buy good used parts or hope that Real Steel starts selling again.

Let’s call that the windshield channel. SOR sells them, reasonable until you get to shipping.
What is your timeframe for this? I have a crate coming from them next week and can probably get them to toss one in. Then shipping would be from TX and not Columbia. If you want, I’ll get a price for you.
They dont sell them for the FST bead style securement. Last i checked at least, which was about 1-2 months ago. Just checked again, no stock.
Here is the windshield channel that most are referring to that they need for their FST. This unit came from Real Steel a couple years ago. I didnt have the foresight to order multiple pieces…..
I was quoted $590 + $150 freight for the pair of door headers and an FST windshield channel from TROA. I was able to find a used set of OEM FST door headers for $350 on the forum through a want ad and patience. I still need another set though…..
If all this Bow talk in the Dirt Road Top thread needs to go elsewhere, by all means moderators, we can take it elsewhere.
