Good luck!
Yo.

I just about wrapped up my install of the TROA soft top and I am ambivalent at best about it.

I’m giving them a chance to address several issues before I put them on blast but I will do a detailed write up at some point soon.

The price just dropped yesterday and they will take less in the Make An Offer tab, also, there are discounts for 2 or more if y’all can group together.

I’m on the fence if I made the right decision, as are a couple other people with whom I spoke. I definitely feel like it isn’t worth what they are charging, especially since the footman loops and twist locks are complete garbage. But it is the only game in town as it were so…

I will say that the top and bows are of good (we’ll see in the long run) quality if one overlooks a handful of issues.

Feel free to PM me for a more candid assessment.

Thanks for the feedback. Nice looking cruiser

This is the best looking TROA install I've seen. Lots of variability and I would guess it's both the installer and a lack of QC by the manufacturer. I was able to get a refund for a portion of my top because some parts were not made correctly. I didn't expect perfection, either. The cost of the TROA top and bows is about the same cost of a set of Real Steel bows unfinished.

My review of the kit is linked below. It's fine. I think the price is fair. It's imperfect but only myself and a few cruiserheads will know anything is out of sorts.

My naturally pessimistic outlook about Dirt Road is that nobody is gonna get a damn thing out of that vendor.

Yeah I have seen the one you mentioned on the top and that does look really good. I thought about having someone to remove some material if it came down to that. The only reason I want a soft top is to get some air flow through the cruiser. I don’t mind the look of the soft top but however favor the hardtop more.

I like the soft top because it's basically a convertible.

My wife and I made a family style bikini top while I “worked on” my hard top and that was awhile ago. Hard top repairs are going slooow.

I really enjoyed the several thousand miles with an open air cab but after a few rain storms I justified getting the soft top as an alternative to needing more body repairs down the road due to increased water exposure.

This should be the best of both worlds but ultimately will revert to the hard top full time, maybe.

In other news: TROA responded to my very terse email that I sent last night asking for clarification, pictures and how they can make things better so that is a plus. We shall see.

Home spun bikini on a 1,000 mile trip to SAS earlier this month:

A pessimist is nothing but an optimist with all the facts.

It’s actually Cimarron. My parents got the name from a John Wayne movie
That is a cool name.
Ever been to Cimarron Canyon in northern New Mexico? It is stunning.

The river there is Cimarron as well. There’s another member on here that has the same name. Not sure if he’s still on here. Let’s see @cimarron
Our property isn't too far from there, in fact, I was exploring the canyon and river the week before SAS.
Speaking of SAS, @thatcabledude, weren't you in the Texas convoy? Did we meet?
