Went for my first ride last weekend since shattering my left index finger and snapping the ligament. Braking is still painful and a bit of a struggle but pretty happy overall that I can still ride, albeit a bit slower. Finally finished the bike while I was recovering, bigger rotors and some other small bits.

Found a see saw, the boys immediately checked to see how many can ride it simultaneously.

holy s*** I would not have been last in line on that seesaw! Did you catapult him over the top? 😂

I can't remember if schwinn was making bikes or just putting their name on frames. But always wanted one of these. And ghastly I know-but I also loved the look of the 90's urt's they made.

in a nutshell, yes. The Schwinn Homegrown line were the last American made Schwinn bikes built by Yeti. The 1998 - 2000 Straight6/8's shared the same frame as their Yeti equivalents. The 2001 Straight 8 as i have was pretty much the same as the Yeti DH8/9 but with the swing-arm shock mount flip.

First test ride on a new build. Tooled around the local greenway path with my partner to shake things out and stretch the legs. We swapped bikes and I rode her fixed gear for a bit - always weird for me, but I’m kind of coming around to the idea of building one for myself, maybe with an internally geared hub.

Had to stop for some glamour shots. Everything ran great. I had sorted out the brakes and shifting on the work stand so most of the work was done but ya never know until the first ride. @RodrigzCrzr tech supported me over the phone to get the brakes dialed in. Thanks homie!

Handlebar tape is in the mail. After that I need to get it on some dirt!

Did a quick rip of a ride today, dirt was hero!! Have really enjoyed playing with rocky's ride-9 settings. Between that, short stroking the rear shock and adding a -1 degree headset. This bike is absolutely nailing what I want out of a trail bike these days.

Only downside is, now I really want to pony up the money for a custom frame.

So I excel always to do the dumb things…. Like putting a 1PZ into an FST 70 just to make it correct. 😂😂

Anywhooooo…. Year 3 of doing our local race single-speed. Best year yet and best times…
