Went to Vermont for some Fall New England riding. Did a 13.1 mile ride with nearly 1300 feet of climbing. Flushed the largest bird I’ve ever seen off a tree. Might as well been a Condor or a Pterodactyl it was so huge. Flew like a raptor, though.

Mundane ride today, but I came across this memorial on one of my favorite trails. Somehow I had never seen it before. RIP Rick . . .
Ditched work today to get some miles in. Amazing weather today, so worth it! Also, been playing with my suspension, shimmed the rear shock down. So, now it's only 126mm. Definitely felt a bit more spritely. Going to try an angleset next and slack it out a lil'bit.
Tooled solo around the neighborhood last night because that was when all of the week's other time demands ended

Nothing exciting here with rides, been using the Big Yellow Bike to get to and from work (with the pannier rack, it's so easy - shove everything in pannier and ride to work, no sweaty back from a backpack for the win). ~5km each way, so not a big distance but more sensible than driving everyday.
I did manage a good dismount (semi-planned) but still no idea how I managed it really. For some reason, I unclipped my left foot by turning my heel inwards, towards the frame... that then promptly put my heel into the back wheel, which was still turning for a moment... it then locked and unceremoniously dumped on the ground. First time I've ever managed that in using SPDs for 30 years...
