Will you be able to run the factory mud flaps with it?
Doubt it, but we haven’t tried installing on one with. Designed to be mounted on a rig without........
Just an opinion, but I'd at least have an option for buyers that want to retain original mudflaps. IMHO, they're reasonably sturdy and quite a few rigs retain them. Maybe a bracket to install a generic mud flap of some sort - a compromise.

I really like that with no spare or ladder mounted, you can get the rear hatch open. Modular is always nice.

Already way past the 30k mark.
I'm surprised this comment didn't get brought up in the thread yet. $30k for development? Could you guys elaborate?

Have you seen the cost of steel lately? Man! It’s insane!

Will it be available in kit form?

No, far too complex assembly wise to offer as a weld it yourself kit.

We track our time. We track costs. Well over 300 hours of design time, prototyping (3 versions to reach production), and adjusting/fitting to make it as easy as possible to install, not rattly, very stout/strong, etc. All of our products are laser cut and CNC bent when it comes to production (some prototyping can be done in-house with plasma which lowers cost), and each version/change has to be re-programmed at each step (cutting/bending, and not just the bumper parts, the laser cut jig parts too!), adding measurable costs to the development cycle. All in all, it's very expensive to bring products like this (highly complicated, moving parts, custom made latch system, etc) to market. AND, even with all that, this rear bumper is likely going to be one of those products that is sold at a zero margin (over production costs) just to get it out there as a showcase piece for us. The volume associated with these vehicles is too small to make in large batches which is where cost reduction for this type of thing comes into play. One of the reasons why some companies choose to do "pre-order" type things for these, where they know how many are going to sell ahead of time and design based on that budget. We take the approach of making what and how we want, then offer it for sale, available immediately. We have put a lot of time into the development of the swing out mechanism on this one so we can hopefully re-use on many different vehicles, averaging the cost of development down over time.

@Somebodyelse5, that give you what you're looking for?

edit: to be clear, this doesn't include testing time. that's the fun part!

Just going to leave this here. Just about ready for market.

Here is a better shot showing the setup, giving you an idea that the dual swing outs aren't required. Also, custom powdercoat is always an option. It will always add to the cost too.

ALSO, the fact that everything is modular means that if you KNOW you aren't going on any trips for a while (other than just driving around town, etc), you can VERY easily pull the acc off the swing outs and STILL access the rear hatch!!

This is so awesome. It's so cool that it's modular. Obviously you have a tire carrier option for the swingout(s). Do you have any other options? Jerry can mount? Ladder attachment? Something else badass and useful that I haven't even thought of?

He mentioned that earlier that those accessories are all planned. As the hole patterns on the swingout will be shared with other companies so they can also produce accessories to attach to these swingouts. Awesome idea IMO.

Dissent's prices for the 100's stuff only when

Yup, that's what I was looking for, I appreciate you taking the time!

Thanks! The accessories we will be offering are: on release, tire carrier. Shortly after release, hi-lift mount, jerry can mount (double), ladder, and the kitchen/tool/whatever box. We will add accessories over time, and like mentioned previously, will be publishing the mounting points so other folks can design and build accessories.

edit: @Box Rocket beat me to it!

Sorry. Hope I didn't overstep.

Not really understanding the hate lol and the mudflap thing who else has an aftermarket bumper with keeping the stock mudflaps? I doubt if someone really wanted them it would be that hard to figure out how to modify them to work. My only two complaints are 1. Would like to see a little more side impact protection on the rear quarter which Delta has already said could be done for a fee in another thread. and 2nd isn't the fault of the bumper but mine in that i added a body lift so the lines don't look right but that goes for any aftermarket bumper.

Come on over to the 60 series section and design something for us, I know I would welcome some more rear bumper options!

Been talking with a guy a few hours away who has a 60 and is willing to leave his rig with us for a couple months this winter. Stay tuned...

Some owners are planning on towing for overlanding or for whatever. Mud flaps help protect what your towing from debris thrown up by the rear tires. This pic of same view of my Kaymar (from post# 46 in this thread):

Austrailian built, 15 yrs old, not a rock crawling bumper, made for overlanding. As you can see, it's not as much big rock protection as Delta's or 4x4 Labs. It is quite an upgrade from stock though, and it's made so you can remove either the mud flap, flare or both with out a major detraction from the looks. If you remove the mud flap you can see the leading edge matches the curve of the wheel well. Rock crawlers really don't have any use for mud flaps - usually end up breaking or tearing them off, and it seems that is the trend, so most after market bumper buyers aren't really interested in them.
