Delta VS rear bumper sneak peek

I have been following this thread. Just a couple of comments:

  1. Anytime ANYONE introduces products designed for our rigs, it is a good thing.
  2. Choices are always a good thing.
  3. No product will suit everyone's needs or wants. It is not possible. If you think it is, please tell me why there are exactly one bazillion different automotive manufactures and they each have a bagillion different offerings.
  4. If you don't like what they have, or want to modify it, either work something out with the vendor or learn how to fabricate.
  5. Everything is a trade off. Weight vs protection, looks vs utility, etc. Buy based upon what you like/need.
  6. Constructive criticism or suggestions are good.
  7. Beating up a vendor, just because you disagree with them or don't like their product IS NOT a good thing. We want to encourage people to develop and build products for us. Really. We don't want them to get a bad taste in their mouth and say to hell with it and leave. See #2 above.
  8. Beating up a vendor, when they have not delivered what they promised, IS a good thing. This should be done in public as well so everyone is aware of the facts and we can steer clear of them.

I could probably go on with the rant but wont.

I like what you are doing Delta and will be bringing some of my hard earned cash to your door. It looks like the rear bumper has a ton of possibilities for modification and you certainly have thought things out for flexibility. I wish you nothing but luck!

You AUS folks are upside down aren't you? (those go on the top, not the bottom...)

:meh: no-one wears then down here. We all spend our time frolicking half naked amongst the gum trees and kangaroos, or frolicking with dolphins :moon:

No crankiness here.

Delta VS, I like checking out your products. Clearly loads of design and engineering goes into your products, and sunroof then look fantastic.
I'd seriously consider your front bar if I were in the US, but bumper plus freight in AUD$$ would cost more than my 25yr old rig.

In regards to lights, in Aus there's a legal requirement to keep lights unobscured.
Not every rear bar is going to obscure the lights.
Down here, the market now expects a rear bar to have secondary brake and signal lights, wasn't always the case.

Something seems familiar here.....

Lmfao most of you complaining probably wouldn’t buy this anyway. Major props to delta for making products for a 20+ year old vehicle.
Im not complaing, just giving feedback so guys that will drop $2500+ on a rear bumper wont over look the Delta VS because the fit isnt right on the sides.
The fabrication and adjustibilty on the swing outs look very impressive, nothing compares to them, top notch Delta !

Eh, no crankiness or bitching here regarding the taillights. My question that started it all was meant to be taken constructively. But as all online forums go, things can escalate unfortuantely. I do have issues when people say they're done, but continue to take it to another platform, even in an attempt to be humorous. May or may not have been my place to say anything, but it's been done.

This was more the type of response I was looking for when I asked what sort of options/suggestions were recommended for the taillight situation, for those that do want to do something about it(or even legally required to do something about it...) Thank you @Delta VS

Looks like Patrick did snap a pic with an arm open, so here’s a good shot.

And to all the folks worried about lights, notice there is A LOT of room to the left of the tire mount which means it’s up to you, the user, to not block your lights when you install your stuff. Or, up to you to install two spares and have no cares.

I said it in their front bumper thread that I think it's one of the best designed and well thought out bumpers for the 80 and if it weren't for living in NZ and already having a custom bumper made I would have gone with them. That effort they put into the front is consistent with their rear bumper offering. Again same thing applies if I wasn't in NZ and have a custom rear bumper planned out, this would be my first choice, possibly even dual tire option :flipoff2:. Nothing but top notch work, the modularity, the type of latches they're using, the craftsmanship...

Now, will this fit dual 37's? (don't asnwer that) :hillbilly:

Any plans on a ladder attachment?

Any plans on a ladder attachment?

Yessiree. Ladder, hi-lift, kitchen/toolbox/storage type thing, and jerrycan holders are all on the list. Once those are banged out, we will publish the hole layout so other folks can make and sell bolt on components as well (think Magpul M-LOK type situation).

Well other than this one has nice level wing and doesnt look like a mudy shoe would slip out of the step pocket
Heh, if you ever fabbed a rear bumper on one of these you’d know the body sweeps in back there and at the angle of the pic would make those two lines look slightly off, but its not. As far as a muddy boot slipping out, if you think a 90* step is a slip hazard, then thiers is as well, as it “looks” angled down in all tge pics i have seen, but may just be the angle.

But if you want to be a hateful limp dick, well, you succeeded. I was just saying the step was awfully familiar(not like mine was the first one, but before theirs) and its a nice addition to their gorgeous bumper that IS superior to my home/garage built bumper that i designed and was my first time doing it. Id love to see your work....

Giving people the option to swap stuff out in different scenarios is absolutely brilliant. Not all trips require the same gear, making it so guys have a choice on what bolt ons for each job or upgrade as they go is gonna make this a top bumper. Keep up the great work delta vs
