Looking good. So that's what a pig looks like with the body on the frame?

Don't know if Mr. T'd approve of the material, but the spacer is done!

It is ASTM H36.01 balsa wood, so maybe it'll suffice.

Feel like I'm shorting the job by not having the entire mount cut, but kinda concerned that it may not be as stout as the OE and if this spacer fatigued, it's not really the end of the world, where a crack up above may be a huge problem to deal with in a pinch.

I think this is the bestistssies. winkwinknodnod...

Kinda what I was thinking.

Can you imagine the machinist's expression when given a hunk of balsa wood to work from?

Guess this beats succumbing to mediocrity and relegating the Pig to fair/cold weather duties.

Gotta have AC!!
just got the drawings back from the machinist that he did in solidworks based upon a cocktail nakin drawering I give im.... your block of wood would have gotten these guys everything they needed in half the time it took them to decifer my pencilwork

Bonus: It will not rust!

So ... hate to do it, but why is this one taking so long? I understand the body resto, but wasn't this a "get it running" project while the other one was under the knife?

Stepping out of kicking range :hillbilly:

That would be useful to know! One day we will all need this...

Unfortunately, lacked the time to continue to search and bought (stated) new.

Further investigation uncovered more a "rebuilt" condition, but had to act fast.

New developments at Robbie's are necessitating faster acquisitions, since he now has part time "help".

Won't broadcast names of folks I don't personally know or don't have permission from to do so, but the "help" is, undoubtably, WAY qualified, and surely Robbie welcomes the addition for certain aspects of this project.

Know I do!!

"New guy" has started wiring and decision was made to update to a later fuse box and bits from a later harness, that should keep color coding the same. Thinking that may have morphed into building a new harness, altogether, which is fine with me, since it won't be a hack job.
