That's a good video, JP. I think I saw it last year sometime.

It shows them coming out at the creek crossing / old house on that trail I've never been up. Right where Tad got a picture of the bobcat.

I still want to take that trail sometime.

yeah that was the weekend we were there back in march......... remember we beat then to the prime spot on the bald :D

we actually took that trail last time when we were up in June, it is much more rocky than the other trail to the top. We'll have to hit it up this coming trip

I'm in. I may be solo or i may have someone to keep me warm. Not sure yet ;)

If anyone has musical instruments that they can play, bring em'. We can get some mountain top pickin' and grinnin going on. :grinpimp:

you guys bring the insturments and I'll get the shine:grinpimp:

i'll bring some of that too :)

....that side trail you are talking about JP, if it's the one i'm thinking i went up there once (insert long ago here) and it was gated.

In that video, the part where they were getting tugged; i'm pretty sure that was them coming up that steep decline that we went down....

man i'm getting pumped!!!!!!!!!!!

Is the Creek video part of Cullowhee?

You might be right..... the rover guys ran that trail I am talking about back in june and took it all the way to UCPRIVATE, so hopefully it will be open..... if no there are plenty of other trails in the area to check out

I will take any side trails...

Do the two groups meet up at some point I am assuming?

I think we can get up there pretty early, but I need to check with the dog sitter. Taylor's family has a mountain house in Sky Valley (which from my calculations is only about 40 miles from our meeting place). If the dog sitter can do it, we'll come up there the night before and leave out from there.

Anyone else is WELCOME, we have 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, kitchen, pull out couch, all that good stuff.

I'll post up when I know....

Heather, if you have room for one or two more, I'll make it up there Thursday night. Cat can't take the day off, but my old college roommate may join me. I can get the details from you this weekend. I'd like to volunteer any of my extra camping gear, if someone feels like they are short on gear.

I know you are the man for any exploring dan........ that what your 80 was built for right!! I can't wait to see it in person cause that thing is sweet

And yes the two groups will be meeting up friday night at camp........ our early group is just going to be doing some exploring in the general area of camp and
then return back that evening.....

I just have to find someone who can lead the late group in

I would be happy to if I knew the way :)

Just leave orange marker tape at every turn for "right" and pink for "left" and we can wander on in.

hehe how about bread crumbs instead :D

If my GPS had offroad tracking we could build a waypoint map...but alas, my technology is lacking :)
