Have you dyno'd your truck as is?

We when I had chinese cats I tensioned the wastegate rod more to overcome the restriction and never backed it off with the new exhaust lol

Hard to tell but we will confirm before and after on a stock truck with a dyno run once we have bellhousings and a donor vehicle to be the first NA which may be @CrabCake or @RayRay27 for the 93-94 guys, 95-97 idk yet
Sooo...I'm leaving my rig in Salida, CO after Cruise Moab, can stay there as long as I want.... maybe we can get it to you when you are ready! @Cruisers and Co feel free to PM me with thoughts or we can talk at the event for sure.

We will 100% get together at some point to chat. We head over wednesday

I was wondering the same thing. Wondering if it would make sense to go this way first and then consider a Turbo down the road?
Depends on the needs/wants. Turbo will net a greater overall power gain but A750 offroad will take the cake and depending on the condition of your trans it may be more of a necessity vs a luxury like the turbo. Combined I can confirm is epic

It is an absolute must. The gear spread between 1st and 2nd and 2nd and 3rd on the 343 is horrible. On the street this is a lot more apparent.
I've been looking for such a solution for many years (5 or 6 speed transmission swap) and now we have it.
Not only it would make the 80 more drivable but there will be more power at the wheels due to 750 being more efficient (less transmission losses).

If you live in a CARB state this swap makes a lot of sense.

I DD a GX470 for a long time (now in a GX460) and I always really loved how smooth that transmission shifted. Lots to think about, thanks for all the innovation you are doing! Great time to be in an 80!

Carbs a good point. So far we have zero codes and a long haul trip to Cruise Moab next week. I will 100% be able to confirm emissions readiness monitors are good to go soon

Epicness of the two items combined is confirmed! Riding in this 80 will change your life and make you re-evaluate your priorities.

Well filled up at the pump today. 12.2 mpg….

I have been and the guys (shop dudes) have been driving it like complete idiots…lots of time at WOT, changing gears for no reason, doing pulls and this even included the dyno session. I have now filled up again and will drive it like a civilized human being. Will report back what I get on this tank before taking off for CM on Wednesday morning. Overall I’m not mad at 12.2 given it would’ve been sub 10 the way we’ve been driving 😂

Was able to connect with the Cruisers and Company crew while at Cruise Moab and Johny was kind enough to let me take his rig for a spin. I left pretty stoked and excited for the A750 sitting in my garage waiting for the kit to be ready for release. The rig was even faster off the line and was nice to see the low rpm’s while cruising at 80. Appreciate the innovation coming from Cruisers and Company and for helping us LC nerds have some modern power in these awesome rigs.

Did I miss the pricing for this kit?

No...there has not been an official release price of the kit yet...I'll let @Cruisers and Co fill this in when they are ready (still assessing production run size of bell housings for instance that will affect this).

I too had a couple of great conversations with Johnny and his guys...great group of fellows and excited for what they are bringing to market for us 80 owners! Unfortunately we all had a few beverages as it was later in the day (and Johnny was busy with his kids), so I didn't have a chance for a ride or drive, but totally confident in what they are putting together. I too have a fresh A750 in waiting...anxiously...that said, my rig is holed up in a garage hidden in the Salida, CO valley for a few months. I hope to get back out to CO in later June or July to do some more local wheeling and then bring her back home to the east coast for some transmission work. ;) :wrench: 🦀

Looking forward to kit pricing. Checked car-part.com and there are dozens upon dozens of A750F's for $500-$950 locally.

The very first page of this thread said that it had to be an A750F from a later model land cruiser in order to fit/work properly, these don't seem to be as easy to find, the car-part.com link shows none in my area and only 3 or 4 units within 200 miles of me. Prices starting at $2500

The A750F is a 5-speed automatic that can be found in the ’03-’07 100 Series Land Cruisers and LX470’s. This is the variant that has to be used in this swap.

At that price point it makes a lot of sense to use Toyota remanufactured unit with a warranty 🤷‍♂️

Yes, Toyota Reman listed at $2723.74 right now plus a $1000 core charge, so $3700 or so reman from Toyota directly. The used ones should be cheaper than they are, I suspect they aren't selling many of them, and only to people that don't know you can get a fully rebuilt one for $200 more than an unknown, used condition unit. Of course with an 80 series as the destination you have to pay the core charge as well.

I went with Toyota reman through the dealer and was able to pick up within a few days. Stock shows limited, but I think @Cruisers and Co can hook you up too.
