Hello to all -

The message below regarding Cruise Moab 2008 went out on the TLCA Board e-mail list. Registration is now open! I just got signed up, and I was already number 32 - I think they allow 150 trucks (maybe 175 or 200).

If you're interested, get signed up soon. Cost is $95, which includes registration, a CM T-Shirt, and one dinner at the raffle. There will also be BLM fees of $4 per person per day.

My trail choices:
Thursday: 1) Behind the Rocks (4+ rating); 2) Moab Rim (4+); and 3) Metal Masher (4).
Friday: 1) Moab Rim; 2) Behind the Rocks; and 3) Metal Masher.
Saturday: 1) Metal Masher; 2) Moab Rim; and 3) Behind the Rocks.

Jon - Maybe we should make this thread a "sticky"?

Here's the website and other info from Matt Farr of Rising Sun (below).

FYI: Cruise Moab 2008 registration opened this morning. Last year we filled the event in about a month. If you're thinking about going, don't wait too long! It will be held from April 30 to May 4. Here's a direct link:

New for this year: All vehicles will be required to have a CB or Ham radio.

We can take 200 vehicles now.

I always like to see my friends from New Mexico.

daughterofromer and I will be on Steele Bender, Cliffhanger and Fins N Things (I lead that run)

Come on up early if you can, there is always a few of us who get ther Sunday for a few days of leisurely running trails and hanging out.

I'm in.

Money/registration will be sent early next week.

Ash/Rory/I will be doing some trail riding from here to Moab during the week to arrive into Moab that Friday for wheeling and Saturday for wheeling--we're going to make it one long expedition that week--Canyonlands maybe, possibly Valley of the Gods, etc. Mainly exploring.

Will be trying to run with Romer's crew on Friday and Saturday.

Later.

Oooooh, I guess I'll go.

Ken, is there a way to find out who is leading each trail? Knowing what you are leading really helped me decide.

That won't be laid out for a while. I am only guessing (high probability) that I will be leading Fins on Saturday.

Greg Luer typically does Elephant Hill on Thursday. If you haven't done Elephant Hill, you should grab that run with Greg. He is one of the best leaders out there.

we are already 20% booked in one day. I would not wait too long.

Done. Signed up for:

Thursday - 1. Steel Bender, 2. Kane Creek, 3. Poison Spider
Friday - 1. Kane Creek, 2. Porcupine Rim, 3. Metal Masher
Saturday - 1. Fins, 2. Porcupine Rim, 3. Poison Spider

I'm going easy this year.

I did Kane's Creek with Nakman and he was excellent as well.

Graham - Any CM08 plans for you?

I need to talk it over with the wife.

Some of the group already knows, but I gave my notice to Pres at the end of November and will be starting a new job in Farmington in March. So, I will be moving and hopefully living just outside of Durango and am planning to commute to Farm for work.

Good news is I'll only be about 2 hours or so from Moab, fishing is close, camping is on top of us, and so are all the great trails of the San Juans. I'll miss the club, but plan on trying to join in on group outings.

If the stress of moving and getting started in a new location isn't all that bad then I want the whole family to go to Moab. We'll see how it goes.

Check with Ginger and we'll pick you up on the way through!

Sorry to hear that you're moving, but I'm sure you've thought it through and that it will be a good change for you.

I know I've got Moab in my blood - maybe we'll see you up there in October if May doesn't work out for you.

Best of luck and keep in touch - you know where to find us!

Next question, now that folks are signed up.
