Oooh nice! A man can dream for free at least :D

Always a fun day around the shop:

:)

Working on my amigo's 1981 BJ42 in preparation to deliver to him in Colorado:

No crappy parts used here!

Quick oil change and the correct OEM -41010 classic "big" oil filter:

A new ADVICS/Aisin (internal TOYOTA keiretsu company) brake master cylinder and OEM gasket to the booster:

And new OEM fuel filter as well:

And right on in to the nasties:

Almost no pad left. Glad we caught it. New OEM pads and new hardlines at the calipers since whoever did the work installing Longfields previously stripped the crap out of the M10x1.0 brake fittings.

Familiar sights and smells:

And using @orangefj45 great seal driver (thanks Georg!):

I'll be using a Terrain Tamer kit on the front end; great gaskets and seals and quality Koyo bearings at a very reasonable price:

Hi everyone:

Just a quick FYI that I will be out of the office starting Thursday, February 25th and I will be back in the office Monday, February 29th.

Most likely won't have much email access during this time but I will be available via phone.

Thanks much.
Onur

It's Christmas in February! Fresh pile of shiny, clean, new parts, complete with an autographed picture of the man himself. In a clear display of his budding Shaman powers, he even threw in a hat - he must have known I needed a new one (I do) :D

But seriously, ordering the random assortment of parts couldn't be easier. I send descriptions like "the rubber boot thingy" and "bolts about yay big" and end up with exactly what I need. As you can see above, he gets his hands dirty like the rest of us, so he knows this stuff inside and out and usually knows exactly what I am talking about.

I know that I have said this before but I will say it again. Onur is not just a guy you call to get parts for your LC. Onur is the guy that knows the part you are looking for, where to source it and gets it to you in a timely manner. Read that last sentence again. The value of that statement alone to a small shop like mine is hard to measure.

Onur also knows enough about all these vehicles that he will be able to tell you what other parts you may need to complete the job well. This means a whole lot when you tear down your truck only to find out that you are missing one key part and the guy at the local Toyota dealer will take till Thurs to get it for you.

Folks, I am sure that many can find this part or that at a better price, you'd have to look pretty hard. When it comes to obtaining parts for the LCs in my shop I send an E-mail to Onur telling him all the info on the vehicle and the parts I think I need and Onur tells me the related parts I should also consider. PRICELESS.

I am now carrying 3B/13B-T 24V starter rebuild components (these are discontinued from Toyota).

You get a plunger, your two terminal ends and lock cap :)

I will slowly be phasing in all starter rebuild kits for diesel engine iterations since the parts are not available in the US market. This will include both 12v and 24v applications for 1HZ/1HD-T/1HD-FT/1HD-FTE/2H/12H-T engine variants as well as the older B/2B variations.

I couldn't have said it better. Beno has been extremely helpful getting me the parts I need for my cruiser. The man is a legend in the LC community. :)

Not only does he provide excellent help and service in parts procurement, he is also very thoughtful! Prime example: a awesome toy FJ40 for my new baby girl included with my parts order. The brainwashing starts early.
