My goal before the trip was always to get all the mechanical stuff done. 100 percent Road worthy. That's just about done now a few luxury items. Wendy started on the rear cargo panels and I am working on body and paint. Its such a shame someone painted over the factory colors. I just love the two tone. In a perfect world I will have time to spray it. Basic prep and probably not much body work. Yeah I have always been a lets just drive it and enjoy it kind of guy. And before everyone says strip the old and save it I tried and I just don't have the energy and time LOL

Sure, there may be times when a cool breeze in the face may be pleasant. The downside is burdening the rig with a hundred pounds, or so, of extra weight, taking up cubic feet of engine bay space (always in short supply), adding complexity and just making things harder to work on. I can put up with a little discomfort to avoid that. Besides, an old ice chest, some ducting and fans in the back seat would work just as well and you can take it out in the winter...

10 bags "O" ice work just as well . Especially when a kid watering plants at Museum behind rest area on Colorado line is willing to spray you wit hose

Finished one side of the Cargo panels. Wendy did a Great job. I have gone this far so I figured why not re paint it. Mechanically everything is sound. I have some extra time and I just really love the factory two tone.

I like the pump down low that would be a great setup, alternator Up top above compressor, save drivers side for power steering pump, This would be my setup if I put it in but I don’t like this set up . You got it going on, Good luck

Really happy with the Compressor and belt line up. Mocking up the blower fans. This is on hold til Monday. Finishing up a few other things this weekend

Interior unit looks nice. If you're happy with the belt/pully alignment then good deal. I think I would have to try to tweak that alignment just a tad but I know that sometimes it's just not possible.

My GCC spec 83 Troopy has the compressor down low on the passenger side motor mount with the power steering pump above. Driver's side has the alternator. It puts the alternator on the opposite side from the battery but otherwise I think it's a nice setup. I also don't like the AC compressor stuck up so high but that's where it is on my '77 pig and that's where it's likely to stay.

After a trip to the local hardware store and matching colors I ordered a case. Its Rust-Oleum Satin Moss Green . I also ordered one of those fancy spray can gun attachment things. Totally worth it. More Paint pictures coming tomorrow

I have to say the rattle cans paint job came out pretty nice. I am happy with it. We spent the last two days cleaning up a few things and working on the AC. My buddy Matt came over and after spending the morning getting the condenser mounted we ran lines nd got things charged up. What a Game changer. This is going to be a comfortable ride.
