The first 500 miles I averaged 63-65 MPH around 2500 RPM

2nd day I pushed towards Grand Junction Co to meet up with some of the Rusty Nail racing crew. There wasn't a lot of opportunity to take pictures while driving the loose steering box had me focused. The issue was the lock nut on the adjuster on the side of the box would come loose. I would check it each time I stopped and seemed to be doing better. Once I made it to Ridgeway I would have the chance to pulled everything apart at Rusty Nail racing HQ while visiting @RustyNailJustin and family. I had stayed at the Desert Moon in the past on a few FJ45 road trips so I was close enough I wanted a few pictures with the 55. I could use the AC off and on depending on the grade and engine temp. Still a game changer just having it during the hot parts of the trip

Arrived in Grand Junction for a visit with Cameron and Christian Reece Owner of the 1119 Rusty Nail Class 11 bug. We had a Great visit and the next morning I left for Rusty Nail HQ at Justin's house. It was Great just hanging out and relaxing. No crazy race prep just chilling. That afternoon I heading over the the KOA camp in Ouray to meet up with @dogfishlake , @ElviMcCoy , @ceylonfj40nut and @thatcabledude . I had not Officially signed up for Solid Axle Summit so I did my own thing, helped Justin with some logistics getting rigs set up for work at RNR HQ and offered assistance with some carb work in camp. It was Great catching up with everyone. The Pig was a Big Hit and I was just so happy with the way it came together

Epic trip in the 1972 Toyota FJ55. after 2 1/2 months of work in 10 days we covered 1700 miles round trip. The last minute install of the Universal AC kit really paid off. Calif to Ouray Colorado with stops along the way visiting friends and making memories. Utah is amazing even when the temps reach over 105. Colorado never disappoints. I never pushed the 55 to hard we took our time and for its first time out it did fantastic. Some prep before the drive home at Rusty Nail HQ and getting to visit with everyone was Awesome. This adventure never would have been possible without the help from Wendy restoring a headliner, holding wrenches, designing cargo panels, helping paint and all the Support. What's next ? Start another Cruiser LOL Thank you everyone who helped me out along the trip getting there and making it home. Shout out to the Wolf Pack !
It was great to hang with you guys last week. I was so geeked out about being around the Rusty Nail Racing shop and crew. Glad you made it back safe and sound! I had so many parts in my 80 coming back I had to sleep in the drivers seat at a rest stop in NE. That was rough, but I made good time!
Looking forward to this winter. Standing on the ice drinking beer, waiting for a big pike to hit a tip up is an excellent action sport.

This was one Epic shakedown run LOL I have a list of things I will be doing to the 55 over time. Sound/Heat matting on the floorboards and firewall, Some window tint, Larger radiator, New steering box. Overall the Pig did Amazing. After getting home and spending a few days cleaning it was time to swap rigs around and start prepping the 45 for Bonneville Salt Flats in 2 weeks and the 2026 World of Speed week. After Bonneville we will have the 45 on display at this years Cruiserfest at the Land Cruiser Heritage museum. Hope to see some of you there.
