It’s probably been 30 years since I’ve used marvel mystery oil but the can itself was amusing to read… some of those very old motorcycles ran ok and I always hoped it was a good thing. On the other hand, I had a friend who was a helicopter pilot at McGuire AFB who usually only rode his motorcycle from NJ to his home in Maryland every weekend, put over 100,000 miles on that v-twin air cooled engine. Thats a lot of miles for that engine…The mechanics there at the base helped rebuild the motor with him and mic’ed and measured everything… he told me then there was so little wear on parts that he did not replace things he swore would need to be replaced.

He used Marvel Mystery oil religiously despite Harley telling he would void any warranties in place doing so.
Haha once of the first things I did when I got my pig was MMO in the cylinders/ pull the carb & tank:D

Pondering how I was going to get fluid within cylinders the use of syringe is no brainer. Of course I don’t have one and could see need in shop to have some.

Sitting at desk 10 minutes ago nurse I’m working with proceeds to tell me how a patient dropped off box of syringes after her husband passed wondering if we could use them. All are expired so can’t use them in clinic.

Ironic how things work out sometime…now I look like some kind of addict!

You can put in oil or gas also 🤔🧐😏😉
Yes sir that’s big plan. Changing oil this evening, got Wix oil filter waiting to be picked up along with new plugs. Planning on 2 ounces in 5 gallon of gas also for Orange Clyde.

Taking lunch shortly running to Autozone to by a gallon. Saturday gonna give Clyde’s twin a good run to town and put some in tank along with change oil on it also.

Watched some cool videos lying in bed last night showing results of using it.

I’m getting a ton of crap done at this new job especially regarding cruisers. Just waiting on people to get sick and slowly grow my practice.

Might as well make some things happen while it’s slow.

Several years ago makers of the Zpack tried to sell Zmax. One time dose would cure all one’s problems, problem was somewhere around 80% of folks got the shyts.

Didn’t stick around long..doubt we are talking same stuff.

Don’t forget the Marvel Mystery Oil top end auto-oiler
Wouldn’t that be nice! As cool as that is I went with the manual oiler

@REZARF had that fine piece of history didn’t he?

Watched good video about the MMO and how it was utilized in early days of combustion engines due to essentially unrefined gas. Amazing it’s still used and doing good things.

Waiting on new master cylinder from Kurt. Gonna try bleeding the brakes with fresh fluid see if that helps.

One more work day, wife and daughter should be home tomorrow so I can carve little more time Clyde’s twin. Gonna see with a little MMO in gas and oil and drive 100 miles or so see if I notice anything.

@greenbeast So…my head is telling me that a syringe sealed in a sleeve expires due to the possible loss of sterility…is that the case?

I have a bunch of large barrel syringes ( possibly 100ml ) we used for impressions a lifetime ago. Kept them for reasons like this with a small run of 1/4” silicone tubing to help winterize engines, plumbing and other un-guided needs. Kind of like the red straw on a can of WD-40.

I also realized afterwards; …. Is marvel mystery oil still sold in the dark red can with all of the odd ball comments on it. Your photo shows only the super simplistic plastic bottle. It’s been a long time!

No cool cans at Autozone but that would be nice to have on shelf. Maybe Oreillys has one.

Everything in medicine has an expiration, some things you just have to shake your head and wonder why??

Those syringes you have are perfect, the little guys I have are meant for needles which make them not ideal at times. They have some larger 60 mil syringes with tip which is ideal, they are used for drains or feeding tubes. Gonna search a little for one.

Amazon sells a syringe with "Curved Tip" or "Irrigation Syringe" that is perfect for shop use ( glue or oil) and I'll go through a couple dozen a year around here..

Oil change day for cruisers. Been reading that it seems like it’s of folks using Rotella 15w-40 in their cruisers?

I’ve got that good old fashion 10-40, anyone using the Rotella? No extreme cold here and likely won’t be driven when it’s absolutely freezing outside and maybe the detergents could help?

I’ve been using Rotella 15-40 in the 390 of the Ford since around 2010.

I initially bought it to put in the ford rebuilt 351 Windsor after its rebuild. Still need to do that but cruiser comes first.
