What I want to know is where the hell is your dust? My shop has dust everywhere. All your pics are dust free. Jealous. .. :)

It usually only occurs to me to pick up the camera after I've cleaned up... The garage is not that big and I use the air hose once in a while to blow things out - which seems to help with any little paint projects, etc. One of the first jobs I ever had was working for a German guy who owned one of the cleanest machine shops in the valley. The end of every work day was a mandatory (involved) cleanup, and he had a crew that came in on Sunday to spray down the machines with kerosene and scrub things even more. Monday morning was always a spotless shop, which was not a bad way to start the week :).

Don't have the old pickup anymore. Put together a simple rack for hauling small compressed gas bottles around in the 40. Also works to strap in the two 5-gal jerry cans I use to recycle motor oil, etc. Just uses 2 seat mounts and goes in/out pretty easy.

Not sure, but pretty sure. The only painted screws anywhere are the ones that were installed and painted with the body.

Here are mine. The seatbacks were painted, but I didn't do anything to the screws:

Here are two other pics I found elsewhere on mud.

My original oct 76 seats
Thanks for the image Ant - those screws/washers look kinda black to me?

So even though my seat covers and foam are original and toasted, they now have metal seat backs again. All that patina kind of matches my rear heater :hillbilly:. Not sure what I'll do down the road when/if the seats are rebuilt at some point. Does Shane still make the best covers around? Foam from SOR, etc.

what type of carpet is that in the rear ?

Cool - PM me a price when you get the chance. :)

Price? I was even going to pay for postage if I have it. :)

I think I saw that 40 a few years back somewhere on the web. Nice reference photos. Hard to tell but those seat screws still look black to me?

Seems like some arguments from P&R. I still say they are not black. I give up.

I might have a spare lens for that.

I thought, for sure, I had a spare blinker housing, but it was not in either of the two places it could have been. Maybe I sold it? I thought it had a broken base though. Hmmm.
