Bumps on my 78’s rear tub/fenders?

A little confusion on the OEM lamp numbers around production date 01/1977-09/1977 and 09/1977-01/1979. The latter lists as discontinued but this 81520-69035 seems to work and look exactly like my originals except it's missing the patina :). Now I've only got 1 outside light housing that's not been replaced with new OEM so I might as well get the passenger side. This new one is nice and tight and I've always had the usual electrical grounding problems with these (running extra ground wire, etc.) so maybe I should order the last one and make everything match. Gives me some spare parts on the shelf for down the road too.

There is supposed to be a rubber grommet that goes between the light housing and the fender, that often go missing for obvious reasons. I don't know if new OEM is available or even aftermarket, something is telling me they are not. But even a used one would look slick and keep everything nice and tidy!

Yeah, I don't think those are easy to come by. I did replace the other front light (passenger-side) so now I have replaced all the turn signal lights front and rear with new OEM housings.

There were no stock rubber gaskets/grommets between the turn signals and fenders (on 76-78, at least). I have seen aftermarket lights (or perhaps later replacement OEM lights) with gaskets, but the trucks didn't come with them originally.

The new OEM lights seem to work just fine without wiring modifications. Somebody on the phone at SOR had told me they wouldn't plug right in - got these at Toyota. Good for the urban wilderness and running with the sharks ...

More parts from eBay, seller says the intake/hose/clamp was removed from a 1975 FJ40. He was nice enough to throw in that firewall/water hose clamp I've been looking for a good while. The air intake hose clamp hardware looks like it never had the angled bracket stand attached (maybe the support came later - bracket has a nut welded on)? Looks like black paint on the clamp. Current setup will get the clamp/bracket when it's painted.

I have hunted that stamped sheet metal air intake nose for years - they just don't seem to show up ...
Sarge

I have a complete set. Intake with bracket. I'll sell it to ya if your interested. :) Sorry for the mild HyJack...

Sarge - I'll probably just put that rusted intake horn and the old weathered hose on the parts shelf. I just bought this recent item to get the front clamp (bought the support stand in an earlier listing). The horns seem to come up once in awhile on eBay, but that front support stand with clamp is really hard to come by. That little sheet metal firewall water hose clamp I've never seen for sale anywhere (long discontinued at Toyota). I've always ask a seller if they might have one and low & behold this guy had one and threw it in on the deal. The rubber hose may still be available OEM (got one at Toyota a few years back) but pricy.

Gusb. .. I Don't remember. :)
I sandblasted the parts and painted them black.
My fuzzy memory says it was probably yellow cad.
I'll look through my old pics and see if I see anything.

Nice rig-maybe it is time for me to get new lights; geez those look great! We have friends in Redwood City-great area! Just curious, how is the wheeling out there?

Well. If this pic is correct, it's yellow cad. :)
