Nice Rudi to the rescue again.......that should work perfect I will let you know if I need the PDF.

Ok....So I have been on the phone with dmaddox (Dallas) the last couple of nights and we have been speaking about the original carb set up. Luckily for me he has alot of the parts that I need to get it back to the factory carb along with the electronic ignition components. So he is sending those out to me with in the next week. One thing that I would like is some pictures on how the factory fuel lines run from the fuel pump up to the carb and also the return line back to the tank? If any body has those that would be great. Thanks for the help.

Thomas, Rudi's diagram is close, but not 100% accurate for '77. Emissions and turn signal/hazard circuit being a couple areas of difference that are easy to point out. The Haynes manual is the best resource for the wiring diagram, you have one right?

Fuel lines are hardlines from the fuel pump to the carb in a stock setup, pretty self-explanatory once you get your hands on them. Picture from SOR, I don't know why they threw in the vacuum line for added confusion

And this is an F155, but the line routing is basically the same on a 2F:

Here's a 2F from the front, the lines enter the carb slightly different:

A couple things I need some help on as well. I need to know how the factory carb bolted on to the manifold. The PO had put a weber on it so it has an after market adapter on it that does not match up to the factory carb. So Pics will help. I will keep giving updates on what is going on. We are getting closer and closer and im sure I will be asking for alot of help as I do get closer. Thanks again for the help this far.

Wow! Looks great Thomas!
Makes me wish I were down there to help!

Matt thanks for the heads up on the diagram from Rudi. I do have a hanes manual so I will compare those setups.....also thanks for those pics of the fuel lines those are a huge help. I'm going to try and bend my own lines so I just needed to see how the went around the motor.

Tj ....trust me I wish you were here to help also. : ) maybe once we get my rig done we can go for a weekend trip.

Just to give a quick update, I was able to get the last little pieces of hardware from dads shop and bring them home.....I was able to get the bracketing for the altenator painted and mounted along with the radiator and shroud mounted and bolted on. I went through and put the wiper arms back on the windshield frame. I still need to mount the wiper motor and run the electrical but that should all go on farely easy. I will take some pictures and post them later.

Ok guys I think I have ran into a problem....which im sure im going to run into a FEW more during the assembley. But I want to head this off at the pass before I continue on. Not sure how to entireley explain it either but I will give it a shot.

On the transfer case when I go to shift it, it seems to not click into gear. I remember before I did teh gaskets kit on it you could feel it fall into gear. It no longer does that and it also moves freeley from side to side. I can atleast move it that way but have to really pull on it to get it to move up and down(from two to four wheel drive). Im not sure if its a linkidge problem or and adjustment or what???? Thanks for the help.

I have not removed the shifter itself and tried no. I will go and try that then report.

Ok I removed the shifter and the little arm that comes out of the transfer case and shifts four low and four high just flops freeley. Also it seems to be stuck in 4x4 I cant get it to come out of 4x4 and into two whell drive. I have tried rocking the truck forward and backwards and it seems to be stuck pretty good????? The transmission shifts just fine and goes in and out of gear with no problems.

Problem solved.....pulled apart all the linkidge and pulled off the top cover and noticed the arm was not catching on the gears. One down.

Well I was able to accomplish quite a bit on the cruiser today.....It always helps to have a good solid day off to do things. First off obviously I was able to fix the transfer case. That was the biggest challenge of the day. I was also able to mount the windshild frame and finish the wiring for the wiper motor.

I currently have the roof over at an apolsters shop having the head liner installed wich he said would be finished tomorrow. I will have pictures of that if I have time to run over and pick it up before I head into work. All in all a good day.

So I got the roof from the apolsters and it looks awesome I forgot to take pictures of it but I will and post them later. Over the last couple of days I was able to do a few things like put the stearing wheel in and also put the two rear side rails on. I did run into a few problems doing that as well becuase it seems that the new tub is a little thiner then the original one so I had to do some modifications to get them in. Looks good though.

Looking sweet, cant wait to see what an actual upholstery shop can do for the liner. Good call...

Ok guys back to the drawing board.....I recived a sweet packet from Dmaddox. Thanks Dallas. It included some cool goodies such as the adapter plate for the carb and also some components to converte to electronic ingnition. So my first question is about the adapter plate for the carb....I just want to make sure that I have this on there correctly and also point out some things that im not sure are for.

First off does this look correct???

Then take a look at this????

let me know what you guys think of this.

Thomas, what year did that adapter plate come off of? On my '77, there is a slot where that hole is (that hole is for the gas filter). I can't remember, what was the original carb setup on this 40 when you started this project?

Not sure what year it came off of I can ask Dallas and let you know. The PO put a weber on it. So that is what im trying to convert from. I can take a picture of the little vacum looking thing that was in there and you can tell me if it was stock or not?????
