Big Gay 3FE Build

To truly be mega-gay you need to quit saying supercharger and refer to it as a BLOWER.

This idea really appeals to me. I think a 3fe with a supercharger on it would be really nice. It's got to be a low buck supercharger that just about anyone can afford. Maybe a 3.8 off a supercoop.

I don't think I would ever let you paint one of my engines. But I did spit beer on my monitor the first time I saw the completed 2F in all it's glory. Hopefully they surprise you with something even gayer color-wise. But I would go turbo. Easier to plumb it up and I would think a 3FE would take to it better than a 2F would. What's this one going to go in?

2F's take turbo chargers fairly well.

Some dude once told me he did it..

This thread has made my day . I am in the process of converting to 2F-E . Since I live in South Africa it is extremely difficult to import the necessary parts for the conversion from North America. ( still cannot get a cowl harness but have a pretty decent engine harness ) Lately it is getting more appealing to me to fit aftermarket ECU as I cannot get decent harnesses imported and some of the other components are lacking in quality .
A MAP sensor will also be advisable in a forced induction setup . Still wondering about AFM vs MAF .
Furthermore , my plan is to fit a low pressure turbo ( 0.3 bar / 5psi max ) . An aftermarket ECU should be better at handling such a setup (?) .
My biggest concern is reliability of aftermarket ECU's - is that a justifiable concern ( do not want to be stranded in the middle of Zambia with a faulty sensor or failed ecu - that is where the carb gets more appealing )

My 2F was rebuilt with Delta 250S cam , ARP conrod bolts , overbore 0.060" and I imported a 3F-E head that will be fitted . Thus it should be able to acccomodate a blower well.

So definitely subscribed .

I think you should ditch the rainbow color scheme.

And paint this one "my little pony" pink and purple.

HI Marshall
a recommendation : have a look at this ECU Spitronics - Engine Control Unit

it is what I am going to use and it is a superior system. You will have the advantage of the exchange rate in your favour making this ECU about $250 for something that you will be paying more than $1000 in the US.

If you take the kit that included harnesses , Map sensor , ECU, relays etc then the cost will be about $350 . These guys cut there teeth on Toyota engines and reliability so that we use their systems to go into remote parts of Africa .

What about a megasquirt system?

Also, what about fluorescent colors on this next engine?

Finally, you need to decide if this is the driver or the receiver if it is ghey.

If it is the driver you need a PTO and great front bumper. If it is the receiver you need a large bore exhaust.

Just my 0.02 :flipoff2:

Best,

T

All you need is the 3FE engine harness and the ECU, don't go making it any harder than you have to with an aftermarket ECU ;) My conversion is linked below in my signature ...

I don't know if the ECU is up to the task of a supercharger. Plus I really hate the 3FE engine management system.

Still lurking :-)

Good to hear.

After the last one how can you even consider leaving the colour scheme to someone else ? We wanna see your gayness ! :D
