I have the same thing @ 9,000km on my KO2's... I thought it was maybe something i did but it looks exactly the same.

Any lucck getting replacements?

They really twist your arm over it, go to a shop you KNOW to get them inspected. Print out this thread and show them what's happening. After the second idiot my guy was back from vacation and got it settled. Still, they only covered 85% of cost of the new tires

P.S great name, I have the original movie

Thank you for the advice. I just sent this thread to the shop I purchased them from. Their response was promising, hopefully there is follow through.

PS: Thank you! It's an excellent movie!

I was under the wrong impression about this condition with these tires. The info in this thread helped me realize the greater nature of these Cuts/cracks in the tread. I returned to the retailer that I purchased my tires from and asked them to contact BFG about this condition. The sales person said that the condition appeared to be cosmetic and that is what he would tell BFG. I had about 10K miles with pretty rough use on them and I was granted a prorated replacement where BFG covered 75% of the cost of a new set of 5. Its nice to see the manufacturer stand behind these tires. I was pleased with the old set and its nice to have some fresh new tread.

Chiming back in here, 6k on the replacements and the cracks are now visable on 3/4 of the new tires. Not too thrilled about it

Wow... I would think that they fix the newer batch of tires so this does not happen again. Thanks for sharing!

I have a new set of these on the way....think I may just go with something else??? Thoughts??

I started noticing cracks on my replacement tires a couple of weeks ago. So that was just under a month and less than 2,000 miles. I would guess around 200 miles of dirt roads. Any time that I aired down for the dirt, I never went below 20 psi and I always aired up before running on pavement again to around 36 psi.

I really don't understand why this issue doesn't appear to be more widespread if its as common as this for me. I have never had issues like this before the K02 and my tires don't rub at all. I searched on the web and found a few other reports of this cracking but not much. So maybe it's happening to people that aren't noticing it. Still I would think that a lot of people would be noticing it by now if it affects over a year of production on a common tire.

I'm not sure what to do about it at this point. I could probably return to the retailer and try for another set and see if it happens again or just run them for now and see how much worse they get. At the very least, I will be keeping a close eye on them. I'll report back here as well.

Are you talking about those little cracks in the tread? If so I've got some on my KM2's and they haven't gotten any bigger yet. I've got about 15k on them as well.

Damn .... I just ordered a set of these at Costco for my FJ62. They are scheduled to be put on tomorrow. Not sure what to do ....

I got me a set of these, from Costco some 1500 miles ago...

No issues so far

I love the KM2's but I'm thinking of going to the General Grabber AT2's. Pretty much the same as the KO2 pattern wise.

I was going to be buying a new set of tires next week, ko2's were going to be it. This has made my decision hard now.

BFG makes a good product and they replace whatever needs to be replaced. Another good option is NITTO / TOYO for all terrain tires.

I was wanting to try the ko2's, since I never really had a great experience on the ko's. But, I went with coopers, had them on both of my tundras and was impressed.

20k on mine and no issues. 275/70/17, 100% street. Purchased 9/2015
