No plans right now. It was aluminum and made to mount my RTT on the BJ42 and open out the back.

Drool...
I am interested if this is something that you offer in the future..
Best regards.

You have to look backward... to the first page :grinpimp:

Just make sure you have the room to hang it... might have to re-think mine...

If you dont mind taking a look, that'd be great! In the SOR catalog the supports fit a 1958 - 1984, so I am hopeful.

@CAW16 , I did slide under the '71 and held up one of my braces and they look like the same thing to me. I am going to change my description on page one to read 1958 - 1984

Thanks for the help, lemme know if you need them. Got one set left now but will make more.

I've seen your roof rack gutter mount brackets, they are amazing. Will they be in the product line?

I made them custom for myself and a couple other people. They were designed to work with my rack and may or may not work as a generic gutter mount. I am open to making racks but they would probably be a build to order type thing.

Hey Kevin. Great stuff all around. I was hoping the 4 hinge sill for the bed was in your stock of available parts. All my stuff has been blasted, epoxy primed and is in great shape. My rig is an Aussie 45 LWB. But as you can see the sill is pretty beat up and I would love to find a new replacement before we paint things up. Any help or direction would be appreciated. BTW, will also be ordering one of the SS Signs. Just deciding on color.

Thx, Ken

Ken,

Sorry, was out of town doing some winter wheeling all weekend.

I may or may not have a sill for that bed. It depends on whether the two beds I have sold and still have to assemble are three or four hinge models. I would have to check. I had built (5 years ago) enough pieces to make those two beds either 3 or 4 hinge (early or late) style so I had two sills for each one.

To the other mudders watching this thread...before anyone gets all excited... those parts are sold and were built about five years ago. I just haven't assembled them yet. I am still not making any more bed parts. I do not have bed parts in stock. I MIGHT be able to help Ken out if I dig to the bottom of the pile and count my bed sills.

Kevin

Hey Kevin, Thank You for your response. Understood & Very much appreciated. I'll be on the lookout for your update. I'll also take one of the Red Stainless signs. Hopefully if the sill is available we'll just make one transaction. And it looks like you had a great trip based on the spectacular photos. I'm currently tackling the transfer case and transmission removal. I really need to set some time aside and get my build thread going on here. This sight is incredible. No better resource anywhere. I'll throw a couple of pics up.

On Long Beach Island, N.J., 1 block from the ocean. Long way from the outback west of Sydney! The green was sprayed over the 416 Dune Beige as the Ute belonged to the Australian Wildlife Service. I wet sanded the green off just to get a feel for the original color which is how it will be restored.

And now...getting ready to pull motor and send frame out for powder coating along with a ton of smaller parts. Nothing but surface rust. Frame is 100% solid as was 98% of the body parts. I can't believe how lucky I was to find a rig in this shape. First 40 was 30 years ago (Freeborn Red, thus the sign choice) , a 1973 all rusted out but I always loved it and knew when the time was right I'd have another. Hopefully this one will be in the family a long time.

All the body parts have been blasted and epoxy primed at my buddy's restoration shop.

She looks good KF! Nice and solid. Really need that build thread... I assume you've been taking pictures along the way

No plans for the hood, that's a little out of my expertise.

Hey Kev. Tons of pics taken. If I had a buck every time I read that on here...Been using a little Sony Cyber Shot. Probably have close to a 1000 pics and have uploaded them to both the big Apple desktop in the house and an old laptop in the garage. Just need to do some sorting. Pulled Trans today and a few other items in prep for the engine lift.

Little Kroil and nut came right off. Didn't even have to fire up the impact gun! And just realized I need to take some transmission photos to add to the cruiser porn ;) Suggestions on where i should post the build thread i.e. Tech or 45 section??

I'd do it in the 45 section but if you are looking for mechanical input from the masses put it in the 40 section. More audience there and more help if you have questions.

Kevin, I was lucky enough to meet Michael (@Bear) via MUD and he pointed me to you. BTW...absolutely awesome stuff you're doing. I'm in the parts collecting phase on a build I hope to start next fall (77 HJ45). I realize you're not doing 4 hinge tailgates, but my question is can mine be converted to the 3 hinge? I don't want to assume you're doing the rear sill, but if that's the case and I need to repair mine anyways, could I not convert it by changing out the sill with the tailgate. Also, any chance you're doing bed floors or know a good place to source one? Mines not rusted out, just beat to hell and full of Costa Rican mud :). I'll apologize up front as my 40/45 knowledge is limited. Just started getting into them this last year. Thanks, Jim
