So, learning about and planning for e brake disc brake calipers. I’ll keep this thread updated on what I learn and try on that front.
Any fabric-backed (most) cutting discs aren't up to tasks like this or any heavy cutting. I finally found some metal ones at Home Depot that did the trick.It wasn’t pretty or fun, but got the job done. Went through 3 cutting grinder discs. I think lowes discs are junk. Now to start with disc brakes on the rear and move leaf hangars back. Done for the day.

Fortunately the last time I did axles ('85 4Runner) I had access to a steam cleaner. I was moving forward with POR15; don't think I would have gone that route without the steam cleaner.I would say wash it down really good with some Simple Green, and a thorough wipe down with Acetone, but not sure if it’s going to help much now. Some of the areas of an axle, diff, and knuckles are hard to get totally oil free, and cause some paint adhesion issues.
