anybody ever put an fj40 fuel tank in an fj55? (1 Viewer)

If you find a solution, want to donate your tank to science?

Not promising anything, but how sweet would it be to reproduce a Pig tank that will fit, and designed to take a common in-tank pump...
If I get a replacement tank in usable condition then I would totally volunteer my old one to go under the knife lol.

Just put me on the shortlist if you start reproducing them.

Pigeaten says he has one in norcal that needs a bath and a lining but is in decent shape. So I am considering that since it is local.

These guys used to make custom automotive gas tanks and repaired several of mine (non-Toyota).

I have a nice tank from my 79 sitting atop my car trailer.... It was running my fj55 nicely but it had to go so I could mount a pickup box. I'd love to ship it to someone who needs it. PM me.

I want to add a few pics of a Venezuelan 55. It is a 4/73’
It has the one single outlet on the corner of the right side. It has the one single outlet on the left hand side. A vent that goes into the fuel door and the filler hole.
The weird part is the single outlet with the hose still attached had a fuel filter on the other end of the hose and cable tied to the rear of the body at the loom connection.
the entire top of the tank above the seem was removed and something was accessed and then silicon bronze welded back on and slathered in black hardish glue. Weird. Mule?

I am not sure if I understand this ^^^.
They are showing the same p/n for tanks from 3/69 to 8/76.
I don’t think that is correct.

There's 4 different numbers shown over that range. No idea if it's correct or not. The numbers came from ToyoDIY.com. I just looked up 5 different years and posted the results. I didn't look at every year.
