Another 55 added to the bunch.......

I'll put in a WANTED add in the classifieds to see if anyone has an old 55 radiator available.

Thanks

Well, nothing too exciting to talk about, I finished cleaning the butyl off the doors, mounted the front speakers, and lubed all the linkages, and what was left of the felts and regulator. the rears will be a little more involved for the speakers.

with my Non-USA carb I had to add a spacer, but when I added the rubber seal to the top of the spacer the air cleaner stud was to short so I made one up. Oh, and I replaced the broken hood prop retainer.

Well, finished up the rear speakers tonight, used three tab adapters to mount the speakers, and mounted the adapters to the door. Worked good.......

Well, I move slow, but I’ll get there. I finished the radio install, nothing fancy, but turned out nice and re-installed the dash. I also put in a new fuseable link which was much needed. Now I’m onto fixing dash bulbs @ToyotaMatt , but I’m getting closer.

So, I cracked into the tailgate to repair and lube things up, but now I need more parts. I’ve looked around and found some options, but I was wondering what others have done for the license plate lights and cheap rubber for the tailgate glass ie. channel rubber, outer and inner wiper and upper rubber. I found some threads, but they all seem pretty old so I thought I’d see if there were any updates.

Thanks

Few more things done today, thanks to Cityracerllc.com I got my breather tube, and thanks to @Pigeaten I’ll be getting a radiator, and I bought all new LED dash lights, so it was a good day. I also had enough time to put on the front plastic door liners so that’s another step done. Hopefully more to come tomorrow.

I wouldn't mind using the second choice, either. Wonder how close the mounting holes are?
Not sure, I believe they will fit in the recess of the tailgate which is good, I'll have to verify that, but for the studs I figured I could probably relocate the studs in the housing if necessary, or just drill new holes which isn't my favorite thing to do incase someone decides they want to reproduce the original ones eventually.

Ah, yes I forgot to add the link above, I was considering that option as well, but everything I see is from Bancock Thailand, and I believe aftermarket, but maybe just the last of the NOS for that part. Since they didn't look exactly like the factory lights I was considering other high quality low cost options. BTW, I checked a few part numbers and from what I can tell they are NLA from Toyota, but I could be wrong, I only checked a few years and a few models.

Thanks

I'm thinking I may be too cheap to own a 55.............. :D

Not much done today, I installed two plugs for the thermostat housing and cleaned up the wipers, after cleanup and paint I installed them only to find out the one wiper had a wallowed out hole and was no good. The other was repaired with a rivet at some point in time, so not sure how long that’s going to last. Argh....
