I just read through this one from the beginning. Man, that was a good story to see unfold. I'd only seen it in pieces before. Matt mentioned FSAE several pages back; FSAEH (FSAE - Hybrid) is smaller than the FSAE parent, but it puts a great twist on FSAE that brings the competition into where mainstream automotive seems to be headed. Figured y'all might be interested in checking that out.

It was good to see you and the family last week. I'm hoping it isn't another year before we catch up with the TX crowd in person. If any of y'all are up in the north Alabama area give us a shout.
I would be more interested in putting a 250 to 300 mile range electric powerplant in a 40 if my 2F died than a V8 or V6 crate. I know there is a thread on some electric conversions. Seems viable. I would certainly rather do this to be able to hang onto my 40 for a few more decades if restrictions on carbon emitting vehicles went over the top.
Lots of good ideas come from race research.

@Zjohnsonua great to see you and Jess as well. Our home is open as well to you all. Thanks for the heads up on FSAE-H. We will look into it. @SipLife and @Cowboy45 are doing their separate builds. I welcome your input as they march along. Having other perspectives makes for a richer life. You have done some outside the box stuff which is valuable to them. Hope you can swoop in occasionally when life allows it.

For sure, CD. I need your wife to sell Jess on the bigger-shop-is-better idea... you seem to have that sales pitch down well!

Haha. I will get that started.

Maybe Benita could give her some words of wisdom in that direction?!

Another late night night. Productive. Figured out all the wiring. Time to get it buttoned up. Good news factory harness is not botched and in good shape. Rear harness will need a small tweak. All engine harness stuff is sorted out. List is getting shorter. 2 weeks left before @SipLife roars off to college.

Takes the guesswork out of adjustments. I will report back on how it works.

We are one elf down. Momentarily at least. @SipLife is starting his new journey at Texas A&M. Mechanical Engineering. We dropped him off yesterday. Bittersweet as they say. He got some wall decor to keep the elf barn alive in his dorm room.

I happened to land some wall art myself😁. Some good ones that hopefully leave a subliminal message on best barn practices.

@SipLife fired bluebonnet up before he left. Waiting for custom tie-rods from Bud Built. Delayed. Also putting in a new fuel tank from CCOT. Old one sprung a leak.

Check out first engine start here

Dorm life. Dude has no idea how much fun he's about to have.

Everyone needs to experience living in the dorm. More memories to be made there.

Getting to be a full Toyota Family. We said good bye to Brutus our Trusty Ford F250 diesel with 7.3L, 6spd manual transmission. Brutus has been a faithful cruiser picker for us. Many awesome memories with the elves, @CaptClose and @POTATO LAUNCHER. Main reason we traded it is so that :princess: can drive an automatic. It has been my daily and go to for living room experience on trips. If something happened to me on the road, she would not be able to take over. Good decision.

2010 Tundra Limited Crewmax TRD off-road package. Well maintained.

Need to name it….

I never got speeding tickets with Brutus. Bone stock 5.7L is giddy fast. Still getting used to it.

The 5.7 is no joke. On my sequoia, I try to drive it like a grandpa but it’s hard with almost 400hp on hand. I did have the ECM reflashed recently, it seems to have helped with my fuel mileage.
