Man, now you have me wondering if I am missing anything. Nice work on the property.. There is a lot of neat areas around that area that merit exploring not to mention the park isn't something you can take in in a day. Now they charge a winter entry fee... Sigh..

Are you running a NV4500?
The bearing we added of the front of the split case really stabilized the transmission output shaft.
Yup. Originally I had no issues but the issue started when I adding Marks low/high range gears. I noticed the chewed up slinger when I swapped trannies. Went back and made sure I installed and rebuilt properly. The spacer measured the same length as AA directions. I repaired the seal area the best I could and reinstalled everything without the slinger knowing I would go back to 80 series case now that NV4500 adapter is available. I have been changing fluid every 3K to keep the oil up to par for the last few years and everything going fine.
On my last off-roading trip a few weeks ago I had to hold the high/low lever with a bungee to keep it from popping out of low range. It could be I need to readjust the linkage or it’s yet another issue with the case.

The drive home was noticeably quieter. Thinking the NV4500 was the culprit and it ended up being the transfer case. The shifting feels solid now. Got home and there were no leaks.

Now time for a vacation...

Last night heard an explosion in bed around 3am. Woke both me and the wife up. My neighbor down the road called bright and early to tell me his pumphouse caught on fire and blew up last night. Went there this evening to see what had happened.

Thankful yesterday was very wet. If this happened when it was dry there would have been a forest fire.

South of Bend, Oregon we were hit by a monster hailstorm. There was literally a solid wall. About a half mile into it a white car passed in the fast lane and started passing a blue Subaru. The car lost control flipped a 180 and hit the median and swung into the slow lane hitting this blue Subaru knocking it off the road. I somehow saw a problem was happening and shifted into neutral and swung into the fast lane and around the white car which was now head on with us. We passed safely around and pulled over. The road had about 1-2” of hail. We ran back. The lady in the passenger seat of the white car was having a panic attack. She was barefoot on the shoulder as it was still pouring down hair and rain. The lady driving the blue Subaru was fine. The male driver was doing all he could to calm her down. Got her some blankets and moved their car out of the slow lane on the highway which barely drove. Glass was everywhere. Found her flip flops and was able to get them on her feet at she trembled and was hysterical. I’d never seen anybody so shaken. Police arrived and she got inside the vehicle. The man told us she’d been involved in a serious car accident years ago and was in a coma. Obviously she was having a post traumatic stress disorder. I gave a police report of what I saw and we carried on to the property.

Safely made it to the property. So thankful I’ve driven many snow covered roads and knew shift to neutral and not lock the brakes up. If I’d have freaked out we could have lost control and us and our friends behind us could have been involved. God is Good.
Camp time and is so nice. Lots of fun planned now. My buddy Travis and family are on their way tomorrow to their lot.

Nicely done Jason, glad you guys didn't get tangled up. I bet the peace from the property is being enjoyed even more now.

Damage on the surface where the main output gear from transmission was contacting face of surface and oil breather plate.

Reassembling the gears and saw the gears were not flush. Being at my shop at work I had access to lots of pipe. Found 1-1/4” pipe fit perfectly around the output shaft. Cut a short piece of pipe in the bandsaw.

A 7/8” spacer between the Advance Adapter bearing and the transfer case gear allowed the gears to perfectly mesh together. Also made a new oil plate cover for the tcase breather.

@Hojack

If you read through my thread your issue where you had the spacer missing is exactly what happened to me, except you caught it much earlier then I did, fortunately for the sake of your transfer case housing,

I made a spacer like you did that was actually heavier duty and it only lasted about a month. The transfer case input gear actually puts a load on that spacer in that direction due to the direction of the helically cut gears.

Advance Adapters has the spacers, that are supposed to be included in the kit, and you will see that they are much larger thickness, and they’re hardened.
I called them and they sold me one individually.

Also, the bearing you added to the end of the transmission output shaft is supposed to be there.

When we took it apart there wasn't a bearing on that spot. They had a seal and the other shorter spacer on that spot that fit perfectly in that seal. Whoever put it together the first time must have gotten that mixed up. Glad we put it in then.

Speedhut fuel gauge has been so unreliable. After discussions this sender unit is the way to go.
This was the first one that came up when I searched floatless senders. Would love to see if I can make one work with an OEM gauge in a stock tank. Be a great improvement I think over the mechanical design.

I am positive he has speed hut gauges not oem gauges

Yeah that I saw, which was the reason he went with a floatless sender. I'm just wondering if I can adapt a floatless sender to be used in an otherwise OEM setup.

Located a rock climbing spot to checkout Wednesday 20 minutes south of the property. The spot had a great view of the Cascades, Mount Shasta and Mount McLoughlin with the Williamson River below.

@Hojack did you read what I wrote about the spacer you made for your T-case?

@Hojack did you read what I wrote about the spacer you made for your T-case?
Yeah
@boots4 and I worked on the transfer case and saw there needed to be a spacer between the AA bearing and the main gear on the transmission output shaft. Disassembling the T-case and seeing the wear and damage realized a spacer needed to be on the shaft to keep the gear on main output shaft from eating into the case. I’m glad it was caught early. We worked another long 12hr day rebuilding it. A lot of thought was put in how to support the shaft and keep everything in place.
Having back to back bearings didn’t make sense. The bearing fit perfectly in the end of the back half of the split case. This bearing supports the transmission output shaft at the AA and front of Toyota split case.

And the Toyota split case bearing supports the shaft at the end of the Toyota end split case.

This setup should support the output shaft much better.
Driving the 60 now feels and sounds so much better. I now have no shifter rattle and gear the noise is much quieter. Like I said in earlier, what I attributed to the NV4500 was actually the Toyota transfer case.

Thursday we took trip to Crater Lake National Park. This was my 3rd time to the park. Unfortunately it was also the 3rd time the East road was still closed due to snow.
