Heading up towards Molas Lake today. Going to camp there with @ga12r1 and his family. Elijah is dying to be fishing, so good thing we will be a lake the next two days. Going to try to hit a couple creeks on the way up as well. And I just bought a non-resident annual fishing license....maybe the cost will be more ammunition in trying to get my wife to move here!

I bought my annual too! Fished Piedra yesterday and Florida above Lemon Reservoir today. Not bad fishing but not lights out. Planning to return in October for the hot fall trout fishing.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a muffler shop in Grand Junction or Moab? My mid-muffler has essentially come apart at the seams over the past 24 hours and 1,300 miles. It may hold together long enough to get me home but it’s starting to get obnoxiously loud at highway speeds.

These things typically keep getting worse so i’m trying to put together some options.

I wouldn’t exactly call the 424 miles of I-70 across Kansas fun, but the weather was nice, sunset was beautiful and they have some very nice rest stops!

Gas mileage is right around 7.5-8mpg when doing 75-80mph.

Oh you still have the FWC/trailer set up! I always loved that combo and connected with you while it was for sale. You should just leave it here when you are done with the trip!

I have a buddy in Silverton that may be able to help. He’s got a full shop of tools. I just shot him a message to confirm if exhausts are something he could help with. I’ll reply back if I hear something back from him.

Spoke with him last night. He and his family are well. He’s headed to Grand Junction to try to get it put back together. Has a grill, headlight and a replacement Dissent bumper headed his way now. We hope to see him sometime Thursday at HIH9.

Yes. Wood will be fine to burn. No fire restrictions.

Just wanted to confirm again we can have wood fires at camp? I need to know whether to pack my solo stove or a propane campfire.

Just a quick PSA for anyone that hasn't already left:

Please source your firewood locally (in SW Colorado). Don't bring wood from wherever you're coming from (unless you live in CO). It helps to reduce the spread of regional pests to other parts of the country.

My buddy in Silverton can do the muffler work if you need it. Said he would order what you need and he’s have it in 2-3 days. Just an option. Thx
