It’s been a heck of a day and we are still rolling. Left south Ga last night and made Memphis about 2am. Power napped and left Memphis about 7am, about to roll through Amarillo heading to Albuquerque.
This 2000 LX has handled the 4500lb camper like a champ. Even through the 104* Oklahoma heat. Amazing!
Can’t wait to get to Silverton!!!

Those winds through Oklahoma were fierce yesterday! Oklahoma is windy because Kansas sucks and Texas blows! See ya tomorrow!

I wouldn’t exactly call the 424 miles of I-70 across Kansas fun, but the weather was nice, sunset was beautiful and they have some very nice rest stops!

Gas mileage is right around 7.5-8mpg when doing 75-80mph.

Wait, I thought Texas did the sucking! That's why the wind in NM always blows west to east.

PSA, if you need to replace your ball joints DO NOT GET MOOG LCAs. Mine completely failed today halfway thru Hells Revenge. Getting off the trail was harrowing to say the least. Some of the hardest wheeling I’ve done, and had to do it with no front suspension. Shoutout to @DirtDawg for keeping me in good spirits and getting me thru it. My DS was sitting on the bumpstop and my tires were rubbing the fender and damaged my fender pretty good. Found a local welder and put a repair together. This hopefully will get me by for the white rim the next two days and HIH.

Took it straight to fins and things and hammered away and no issues!!!

We had some crazy storms this evening when we crossed into Kansas on I-70, we’re in junction city for the night. Be back after it in the morning.

Geeze. Glad you got it straightened out man, I didn't want to hear any excuses that you weren't going to make HIH now! Haha, stay safe guys.

Does anyone happen to have a recent first-hand report on Cinnamon (east to west)?

Non OEM LCA's are super scary and lots of reports of them failing. Glad you made it out safe and got them fixed!

Yea, ran it 2 days ago. Good to go. Stony pass which starts another 25 miles or so south of the trailhead of cinnamon is another really good trail and drops you right into silverton.

For the HAM's in the group.

How was Pole creek crossing on Stony?

Welp, I’m going to get new tires installed tomorrow in Durango. I really planned on doing this trip on the cheap, but I’m like three grand deep into this thing already! LOL...oh well! Hopefully the vibration goes away with the new tires.

If it makes you feel better, I had a very similar vibration with about 40K miles and 8 years on my last set of BFG ATs and when I got new tires because the old ones were old and making me nervous, the vibration went away.

That does make me feel better! So will the fact that I will have a good amount of tread on these new ones!

Heading up towards Molas Lake today. Going to camp there with @ga12r1 and his family. Elijah is dying to be fishing, so good thing we will be a lake the next two days. Going to try to hit a couple creeks on the way up as well. And I just bought a non-resident annual fishing license....maybe the cost will be more ammunition in trying to get my wife to move here! 😜
