Hey

NeverFinis,

Can you share what fan you used for the AC condenser. May not need one in the pacific northwest but will probably install one.
I bought it from Rock Auto. Denso makes the OEM condenser.

Thanks for sharing the condenser. what is the fan you used?

That fan is from a 3rd gen Toyota Supra. Bolts right up to the land cruiser condenser.

This maybe the same one: 88590-60010 but I can't confirm.

Edited to show what I have installed.

Here is a picture of my fan, wired it up using Sumotoys instructions.

In responding to neverfinis on how I tied the ac hose down. There is a hole on the lc chassis. I used the special zip tie to plug into the hole, then use anti high temperature abrasion tape to wrap the area where the zip tie holds the hose. There must be a better method; works for me. By the way, cruisermatt. Don’t think you need to extend the upper hose if you connect the upper hose properly. Fits perfectly now. Cheers

You guys ever see this kind of crack in the side of a 4L60 transmission? Swap has about 20K miles on it, donor vehicle had about 90K. It's getting worse, judging by the rate of fluid loss.

Only contact I can think of was bottoming out the front suspension pretty hard once, which led to some contact between the front driveshaft and the front lip of the bell housing. Enough to scrape off the grease zerk and some paint. I've extended the bump stops so it doesn't happen again.

How was the donor vehicle was it in a crash?
07 Silverado 1500 classic, front end crash, but not terrible. Drove it off the trailer. Bad hail damage probably contributed to totaling it.

another quick part to make everyone's swap cleaner/easier... 10mm brake booster port

I have looked in the search bar but haven't found what I'm looking for as of yet!
Is there a write up on what to remove from the ls harness?
I know things will vary depending on how or what people use in their builds, but is there specific parts of the harness that is not needed?
I'm about to degrease it and start labeling plugs etc etc
Thanks

If you're building your own harness, LT1 Swap - https://www.lt1swap.com/ is the bible. Happy reading.

I would recommend going with psi. It’s only about 700$ and the computer is 200$. Engine started the first time. They were very helpful to all my questions. Initially I thought about doing my own but after watching psi on YouTube’s, got convinced not worth my time. On the other hand. Check out my early Christmas ornaments.

Usually I get my answers here by searches but I could find this one, so dumb question:

What coolant type is best to use, Toyota (my belief), GM, or magic any make any model ever made stuff? I am using the stock 97' LC radiator and the swap is a GenIV 6.0L (LY6).

Also, on the previous post about the PSI kit, I went with that as well. For one, I didn't have a good harness and computer with my engine. Overall, the PSI is pretty straight forward and decent instructions. When I did call with a stupid question, I spoke with a guy by phone (rather than email back and forth) and got squared away pretty quick. One thing with the kit, I cleared an area under the driver side dash, tucked way up above the kick plate and left of the pedals for the ECM. I made some brackets and everything was tucked away and went in well.... until I ran the harness into the engine bay. Everything was too short on the passenger side. Their harnesses are meant to be installed on the passenger side under the dash, where we don't have room in a LC. I made a separate box and installed it where the LC cruise control actuator was on the passenger side of the engine bay.

I'm also using the PSI wiring harness. At the moment, my PCM is in the glove box. I don't like it, and eventually have to figure out a place to put it. For coolant, I went with GM:

@White Sheep I have looked into where to place the computer once I do my swap. I had thought about removing the Toyota computer but many people were against that and I don't have strong enough conviction to say it has to go. What are your thought on making a mount that places the GM computer as far back as possible and then making a modified glove compartment so you still have limited functionality for essentials (keep the owners manual and your insurance/registration) but not room for the extra crap that inevitably comes to rest in there.

I sold my Toyota ECU after the LS. The Toyota ECU no longer talks to the the truck so it's obsolete.

There isn't much room on the passenger side under the dash area if the 80. But I'll like to see what you come up with.
