If you have a scanguage I highly recommend this. Had to send mine in, $25.00 including freight to update to latest version. I added trans temp using this method.
Who are you guys using for LS swap harnesses?
Cheapo Amazon for $100
Psi, painless and a few others $600ish
I have a PSI wiring harness. It put the PCM in the cab. Nowhere to really mount it, so it sits in my glove box.I got a bare 5.3, no harness included,
Got my 2004 donor Suburban complete and plan to adapt that one. It looks to be in nice shape. 170k on it. If that fails will look to Howell first, then maybe others.Who are you guys using for LS swap harnesses?

Was that for an auto swap out of interest? Been looking at the x max to make the 6L80 side of things a bit easier, but they're ~$3200 USD over here.I used terminator x max
Yessir, I used a 6l90, but same same. Overall pretty happy with it.Was that for an auto swap out of interest? Been looking at the x max to make the 6L80 side of things a bit easier, but they're ~$3200 USD over here.
Inexpensive ebay harness will save you some money but just think how cheaply these are made in china and their attention to quality control. You will probably be so frustrated if it fails on you and when you can't get it to start. I didn't have the time and intelligence to modify the ls harness so I went with psi (A PSI Harness is made with top quality material right here in the USA). It was plug and play. Watch some youtube videos on them you may be convince. They were fantastic in answering all my questions, great tech support. By the way, if you were to go with their harness ask them to send you the pdf for it's in color. The shipped prints is in black and white. I have two spare unprogramed pcm (one from a 2001 silverado, other one 2005 suburban) and the original 2005 suburban engine harness. Let me know if you are interested. See attached.I got a bare 5.3, no harness included,
Were you pulling that trailer? That’s crazy high for November ambient temps.Took our recently finished 5.3/4l60e swap on a 1600 mile drive from Montana to Texas. I’ve had the swap finished for some time but haven’t driven it much do to overheating issues. I replaced the thermostat, radiator, and fan clutch before the trip but it still hasn’t fixed the issue entirely. Currently has a 187 degree thermostat, HD mechanical fan clutch, stock denso radiator, flowcooler water pump. Temps are around 200 while cruising at 2000 rpm, they rise to 217 at short stops but continue to climb over 225 if stopped at idle for longer than a minute or so. Anyone have any ideas on how to correct this?

Yep, was running at 8500lbs total for the 80 and the trailer. Even at the 15-20 degree weather in Montana and Utah we didn’t see temps drop below 197. I was seeing similar temps while unloaded as well. Were you pulling that trailer? That’s crazy high for November ambient temps.
Hmm. IDK. How is your fan shroud? Fan located in the correct position? You definitely should not have your temp climbing while stationary. Maybe the fan clutch is defective. I have same setup and I’ve never seen temps like that while towing boat in Florida during summer. AC on.Yep, was running at 8500lbs total for the 80 and the trailer.
