Weird, bushings should be the bigger 79+ fj45,hj47,bj45. I think fj60’s are the same?

As near as I can tell the real culprit are the rear springs, they have smaller eyelets than the rest of the rig.

I am learning that the non-USA market, ROW vehicles sometimes get the left over parts from other years and models.

Thanks,
I actually live in Casa grande. I like the slower pace of life ( and lower cost of living than LA- East)
😜
Oh yeah! My mom lives in Eloy and I used to live there as well. It's way easier and cheaper to live, but less fun things to do, with the exception of drinking and driving, responsibly.

There is a 40 for sale out there, that I believe was purchased new in Casa Grande. Every time I go out that way I always keep my eyes peeled for LC's.

A short day but far more satisfying than scraping crud . Axels and springs in place, steering linkage as well.

Should have it rolling early next week then can finish the motor refresh

It’s looking great! Keep up the good work!!
Thanks, I will need to take some time and get all the dust off..... can’t put dusty parts together......😜

Well I’ll start with the bad news,
I got a problem with my brake hoses. The length on some of the threaded male portion is shorter than what I took off of the vehicle. I think I know the answer but I have to ask, a
copper washer on the meeting surfaces won’t be sufficient will it?

Very satisfying to see her with her feet on the ground, sway bar in , steering linkage in and all brake lines fit in place loos ( made sure I had all the right parts)

It’s a good thing I never throw anything out I had some scrap stainless steal from a skid plate I made for my son. Just the right size to make my manifold insulator. Chased a few threads and started the reassembly plus I got the head back on

Had the same experience at Four Wheel Parts years ago, trying to get lug nuts and Bilstein shocks for my 40. Store appeared to be staffed by high school kids with lifted domestic pickup trucks. Frustration of repeatedly getting the wrong parts (and I did their job for them, gave them the right part numbers 🙄) not in any way worth it. I've never been back.
I hate to git all baby boomer, gen x,y, and z, but here i go. I am finding part stores more and more difficult to deal with. If it aint in the com-pooter, then it dont exist attitudes are making it very difficult. Gawd forbid you come in with a race and a micrometer to figure out something out of the box. Rant over....

Finished cleaning and painting what I hope is the last greasy slimy crusty old part, the bell housing, for a moment I thought about leaving the inside alone and then realized I couldn’t do that with a clear conscience so scrubbed it clean got all the sprayed oil off but didn’t bother painting it.

Did a little metal work - dent repair on the fly wheel shroud

modified my removal tool so I could get the pilot bearing

since I had the media blaster fired up I went ahead and cleaned up some cool old CanOpener’s I had.
Finally got a nice surprise in the mail when my OEM bumper stops showed up for the rear axle.

Shiny prices going back on....... very satisfying!
For the water pump I found local source for stainless bolt that doesn’t look too bad.

You should put some painters tape on that hole for the dizzy and the intake manifold.
