I am glad that I don't have to deal with that in SoAz. In fact yesterday was the first time in a while that we didn't have 12" of sunshine.

Was creeping along the highway on-ramp yesterday. The ramp edges had about a 12" x 1" thick stripe of salt/sand mix.

The joys of east cost ownership…

It is a scourge. Reeks havoc on the JP steel. I’m full on aluminum tub and I don’t want that 💩 mucking up the steel I do have.

JP mills in the 70’s were expeirncing some growing pains. In the early 80’s I worked in a cold mill and we imported galvanized coil stock in 15k rolls. Every roll mounted on the shear had to run off an excessive amount of material due to “white rust”. The scrap yard stayed happy.

Circulating the Dino (again).

Can’t seem to break out of the sleet, salt, rain, snow, salt powder cycle IOT get 2.0 out on to the Nurburgring.

Stopped in at the local Wiggly for lemons, dry white wine and a Gouda cheese wheel. Why I have no idea. It was on a list and the Mrs was adamant our continued survival during the impending snow storm depended on it.

After stashing our cache of survival cheese, I decided to let 2.0 percolate in the driveway. Two pumps/two rotations and I had ignition. Currently, all the analog gauges are analoging as intended. No unwanted or unidentifiable noises from inside or outside the engine bay and there were no drips or puddles in stall #2.

At the risk of calling down the Furies, I’d venture that everything seems to be holding up well and despite the prolonged captivity in the BG, 2.0 isn’t suffering any storage issues.

Couple of glamour shots to prove I do roll it out into the open air for the circulation procedures.

This information in itself would cast doubt on the actual possession of any type of vintage vehicle, much less the possession of an FJ40.

This entire thread might just be a dream.

The break I’ve been waiting for.

A clear path to the BP. Added five gallons of high octane and hit a leisurely loop around the hood. Shameless plug for the Old Air/Heat. Once up to op temp, it performed better than expected. Outside air @30* F. The extra seal added to the soft top did a nice job of staving off the cold air. Me n’ the “boys” really appreciate the vent placement. They’re strategically placed so you can pinpoint the warm air toward your vital statistics 😎. Later this winter, if I get the chance, I’d like to test the top/heater at mayhem speed.

On the return trip I detoured off of the driveway into the back field for the 4H/4L tour. Butter smooth engagement.

Back at the hacienda, the yard deer are fed, there’s potato soup percolating in the kitchen, and my feet are pointed toward the fire. I reckon we’ll burrow in and see what old man winter serves up over the next couple of days. ❄️

That was a nice refresher on this beauty.., I ran around yesterday prepping as these weather guys made such a fuss. This afternoon they declared the state of emergency panicking the old people even further. You can’t watch 10 minutes of broadcast TV without “snow” reports interrupting the flow.

We’re supposed to be dry until Sunday am. Tomorrow, I’m taking the 40 to my mailbox!

You’ve got a good plan…

I never get snow reports

Last night they showed empty bread shelves and lines. I figured I was screwed. This morning I find no carts and fully stocked bread shelves and no lines. I plan on doing some prepping Saturday. I gotta cover the wood.

We woke the beast….

Pizza oven?

I've been running mine probably since mid October. It did get a couple of days off a few weeks ago. I love my stove. Last night pork tender loins, tonight venison burgers. With some Oak and Hickory.

Harmon Oakwood Cast Iron stove. The drop in grill sealed the deal. Long burn times and pretty much heats the house. Cooks a little slower than the microwave.

Jeff, I finally got around to using two of those Aqualu hinges you put aside in the build of 2.0. I removed a wall furnace from this hallway about a decade ago, and prepped the space for a broom closet. Just finally framed it in yesterday.😛

My wife said she thought they were overkill. Then an hour later she amended her statement, acknowledging that one of the doors on our linen closet suffers from inadequate hinges.😉

The other two hinges are slated for installation on the 3.0 kitchen box of my FJ40, slated for construction in the spring.

Awesome repurpose of the hinges…👍🏻

Jealous of the Cali construction season. I pushed pause on my building escapades while ol’ man winter was flirting with - 0* temps. Stepped outside earlier today, it was a balmy 25*. I thought to myself “Hey, this isn’t bad, I can live with this”.
It’s all about your perspective I guess.

But, I’m afraid a 25* degree temperature swing isn’t enough to quell the dour outlook amongst the natives. The cold has permeated their otherwise good nature and there’s a foul mood simmering in the back streets of Babylon. So much so, the neighbor's have taken up a collection and put a bounty on Punxsutawney Phil’s head. Now I’ve got nothing personal against the American woodchuck per-say but, I chipped in a “fiver” for good measure just the same.

Looking forward to your linen closet upgrade.
