So we have pterodactyl (my son’s 40 FST) at the stable. chebby 3 fiddy mated to a three speed on the floor single case xfer. We have raced side by side off line in my Tundra 3UR. Never won. Wicked fast and raw! 2uz seems a little Downton Abbey mannered.

It looks like that oil filter will get knocked off by the front diff.
Will be removed and remote.
Not into a 40 for this one but pretty close to the same width. GM LV3 is the same bellhousing as the LS and is a great option on paper as well.What’s the story? Are you doing a swap? Asking for a friend ..

Keep in mind if you do a v8 or v6 the bellhousing will sit 6" forward so the heads clear the firewall. I would determine how you want to use the 40, how complex do you want it, how easy/difficult to repair, and what character or feel you want it to have.

That’s just about where I want to be minus the pomp and circumstance
.Just enough to do what I want but not enough to get into too much trouble. I owe a set of broken ribs to youthful exuberance and a CJ5 w/a wicked fast 327.
Now, I want 300 lb-ft of torque, sprinkled with a generous helping of durability that’s churning out 230 smooth predictable ponies.
Bring it! Happy to let you test drive my 40.
