Just spent the day with the owner, operator, CEO, The Boss, HMIC, El Presidente’ for life of RCLC and his lovely Bride, chasing Chukars across Ohio farmland. Epic day. Great dogs, I almost stole “Tripp”.

Loaded up the HT, doors and ambi doors. Destination “Wooster”. Made it without incident through Amish Country. That drive up 250 is a serious slice of Americana. Dodged more than one fresh pile of road apples. The only downside was at one point, I was less than 2.5 Miles from “Lehman’s“ and didn’t have time to stop.

Great meeting today, nailed down the perfect blend of Mule Hue. #19 custom Mule mix is the walk away favorite. More to follow.

Decent afternoon:

The rear crossmember is from BTB- great piece. The stock crossmember is stamped above the frame to make sure that the rivets don’t interfere with the tub, we’ll make it pretty when the body comes back off.

Pieces of the puzzle. Mounting the doors. The “stance” is leveling out nicely with the HT and doors going back on.

The best thing about a “nonstandard“ tub is you get to paint it a “nonstandard“ color. The Mule started life as a Sky Blue (854) offering. The PO reshot it in Dune Beige. I added the MOPAR flat black to channel my inner redneck and tie in the black DP

So, with the 2.0 rehab, the color had to be outside the box. With a nod to the Barbie Garage, we went with the YOTA Buffalo Brown as a base line to get us in the ballpark. I’ll call it Hershey Bar brown (far right in pic). It’s a very interesting option on a 40 series. Offbeat, creamy smooth, always relaxed in a Big Lebowski sort of way. 2nd attempt, we slid a little further down the brown scale with Mule Brown version I (center of pic). A richer bolder flavor. Like adding cinnamon to $6 coffee. Just a tad too much red but getting there. Last offering (left in pic) Custom Mule Mix version II. It’s a dark, brooding petulant hue with “Guinness“ undertones in the shade and a rich understated brown in the sunlight. You can dress it up or dress it down. It doesn’t scream at you but, it gives you that nonchalant “what’s up” nod.

One of my favorite brown colors is actually a factory color Kia used on the Kia soul. It's called latte brown I think. I almost painted my 80 series that color but did a custom version of the toyota quicksand color instead. Also Subaru has had some cool colors the last 10 years or so.

The “Latte” reminds me of a richer version of Dune Beige.

I have been secretly loving those Kia and Subaru colors for a few years too. I’d never admit that to my Landcruiser brethren but now thanks to White Stripe I’m out of the closet.
Good choice on the custom Mule Brown. Mule 2.0 is going to have a refined buttoned up look when it slowly backs out of the Barbie Garage.

Awesome color ... bold yet subtle - I can envision you with a Burgundy velvet dinner jacket contrasting with Mule 2.0's rich color for a fancy night - or jeans & flannel shirt out for some yuppie brew) Barbie doesn't stand a chance on date night.

A day on the Trap field or chasing birds in an upland field may require a slight uptic in the wardrobe. Khakis tucked into leather boots, a waxed shooting jacket over a pressed shirt and bow tie. A side benefit is you may need to upgrade you shotgun as well. A well healed Perazzi or Ceaser Guerini would fit nicely. I see where you are going with all this, well played.
