Basket cases are so tempting
That's actually precisely the correct term.
Thanks for that reality check.
It IS a basket case.
Soon it will be my basket case.
Sleeping on it really solidified my thoughts.
I can build out a pretty decent runner with mostly parts on hand, then attempt to recruit one of my buddies into the "PIG LIFE".

QTY 6?
Two spares?
I am sure you have a plan.
My guess is those Toyos will age out before you wear them out.
I'm not usually one to let others get under my skin but you're dead wrong. I've been putting a couple hundred miles a week on it and I intend to do so all summer and most of the winter.
These tires will be worn out in 3 or 4 years.
I'm not like most of yall.
My truck gets used for work
My truck gets parked outside.
My truck has not been on a trailer in 20 years.
I'll drive it a couple hundred miles on the freeway at speed on a stock motor with the original head gasket.

We are not all built the same.
Celebrate our differences, but don't assume I've got soft hands because my landcruiser has been painted.
It's Wednesday and already this week I've made a fishing trip to the ishi wilderness and 2x trips to chico to see music!

Age out my tires?
Speak for yourself dude.

Thanks for letting me get that off of my chest.

I feel like a lot was read into a conversational comment from 2 years ago..
It's been under my skin since the time it was typed.
Probably because it comes from a guy who pays tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars to have someone else build his landcruiser while I'm driving mine.
Could also be due to the fact that the tires I got for Christmas in 2002, aged out while I was being stupid and not driving my landcruiser for whatever reason.

they're still brand new, aged out...

I don't think his comment about aging out had anything to do with you, FWIW. His comment was about how long the tread on those Toyos last.

The 2 spares was directed at you and I'm honestly not sure either how that makes your tires last much longer. But not curious enough to ask.

Rotate em in and the set lasts 50% longer if you can keep the wear even...

Thanks for speaking your mind.
I don’t remember writing that, but clearly it stuck with you.
In all honesty, I did end speaking for myself because my Pig has not been out in quite some time.
It sounds like you are enjoying Pig life on a regular basis.
Life for me right now feels like a juggling act and I am just trying to stay focused on the important bits.
Please accept my apology.
I don’t think you have soft hands. I know a few times I have made comments stating that I appreciate your diagnostic mindset.
I won’t get into a measuring contest with you, but if you’re curious, you can look at my build thread and see my sweat to dollar ratio when I was getting my Pig sorted out.
Have a good one.

Two years? Wow.
Now I see it, two years and 11 pages ago.
No wonder I didn’t recall that post.

You sir are a treasure to this forum.
Your reply was as cool and collected as I knew it would be.
I on the other hand was ready to spit venom and rain sulfur, but thought better after the adrenaline shakes wore off.
