By the time we got to the corner glass... we were worn out!! I was exhausted, our arms and shoulders hurt from all the pushing pulling and fiddling with putting the glass inside the weatherstripping.

The corner glass is where you decide if you are a man or not!!

It is tuff!!

It is a great way to clean out your shed when you start putting all these parts back on...

So I was so excited about my glass... I couldn't stop!! I finished up the day with cleaning my old glass and putting on my bumperettes.

I did the same thing with my windows, 550 cord and a ton of windex!


Although some people say it’s for winos under the bridge.

yeah!! It ain't worth a $$hitt for cleaning glass, but it is just slick enough to install ws and glass!!

It was a first go 'round for both of us installing window glass. We caught on pretty fast though. Taking a break for lunch 2/3rds through was the trick. Some Mexican food and 2 beers was just what the doctor ordered. Went back rested and a little looser and presto... All in. My excuse was the leftover jet lag from my trip to Israel.

Worked on my passenger door sunday... took me all day.. geeze! But now I know how to put one together.

So today I put together the driver door. Here is the sequence and a picture of most of the parts.

1. Install the felt strips here at the top of the main part of the door

and the one inside the door.
Dont install anymore felt at this time.

2. Install door lock

3. Install door latch, with linkage installed on latch

4. Then door handle

Do it in this order or you'll learn the hard way

You want the door handle and latch linkage to go together like this and then bolt together (at the tip of the Phillip screwdriver)

5. Make sure the linkage bolts ups like this

So.. I'm on my phone and cant edit.. but we are at step 6... I'll edit when I get in the computer

6. Install window regulator. It bolts up in two different locations.. 4 around the crank and 2 close to the latches

2 bolts here.

7. Slide the glass in, front down first then rotate level and it bolts here on the regulator

8. Now that you got all the guts in and the glass you can install the felt that goes over the top of the door.

I used a spray can to hammer the corners in.

9. As you know there is a channel with felt that bolts on the door, on the latch side of the door.

Now is the time to install this channel.

You may need to adjust the felt to make sure it meets up with the top felt.

10. Mount the inner door handle and attach the linkage.

The window regulator had a piece of foam weatherstripping that was so degraded I couldn't use it and I dont know if you can order it.

Here it is...

So I went to Michael's and got some craft foam and made me some new pieces. I think it cost me $1.50

Pretty close to same thickness

I also bought some edge trim. It will work fine on the rear door hinges and tire carrier... I'm sure I will find a few more places to put it...

But it is too small to use on the threshold above the rocker...
