You are welcome. It was very nostalgic for me. 43 years ago I learned to drive in a 78 FJ55. The patina is deceiving, it is much cleaner than almost all the 55s I've seen. Very minor rust in the rear seat sill, everything else is immaculate in the floor. It is a great 55.

Probably took 150lbs of crap sound deadening out.
Looks like stereo shop did the speakers and sound deadening in the doors. Plan is to go back with LizardSkin heat and sound, floors, roof, inside doors and quarters. New carpet, headliner, fill holes, fix crack in PS door, repaint only the areas visible on the inside. Clear wrap back of second row seat, tailgate after paint for scratch prevention.
Going back together with 6” Rockford door speakers, 10” sub in PS quarter, spare mount in DS quarter.
Getting older, time to accelerate the hearing loss.

ARB locked thirds, ARB compressor, RCV inner axles & birfs, split case modified with drum parking brake (already had a 3:1 low-range) inbound from Valley Hybrids/Cruiser Brothers.

Yeah, the replacement work looks like maybe they had the original panel, and managed to weld it back in.
Probably why the roof was white at one point.
