One Cat Power

Have you figured out the mystery what attracts cats to old land cruisers? Our Tabby/main coon mix loves to sit/lay on my FJ40 and FJ60. Every time you post these pics it makes me laugh and think of our cat. Nice progress on the build. Have you said to yourself “are we there yet?”

Our cats do the same thing. They love sitting on the tires in the front of mine.

Made it back and got the motor unloaded between massive rain storms and then I got the call that pallet arrived.

I unwrapped the motor and it looks good. @RocketCityCrzrs did a great job.

The pallet has the H42/case…turned flywheel…2 x 3.70 thirds with new seals and flanges to install….rear disc brakes….front calipers…rotors…

Lots of work in my future.

I even got the rare shop visit from Red. That’s a good way to end a long day. Front axle build is on the books for tomorrow.

Trying to get this thing on all 4s today. It’s a maybe. The used 3.70 was missing spider gears so I gotta go get some in the parts stash.

Knock down that right rear bed impaler before someone gets hurt!!! Nice work as always Grogan!!🤙🍺

Easier said than done without painters and welders getting involved. This steel is work hardened.

I think he’s meaning use a BFH
Y’all can’t imagine how tough this metal is. I have pried and pulled and winched it.

Every body panel tells me a story of this things life.

Long day gathering all the parts to bolt onto this FJ60 2F to bolt it into a 1967 FJ45.

Early Motor mounts. Non cooler oil filter holder. Early oil pressure gauge. Alternator bracket.

Moving the engine into the main shop.

Did an oil galley plug delete. Swapped out the valve cover from the vapor blasted one to the powdered one to match the intake.

I went ahead and ordered a non oil cooler Aisin water pump. The rubber plug for the bypass makes me nervous.
