I’m tapping my feet for my pallet.

Meanwhile I set aside an hour to unpack the steering parts from @cruiseroutfit

They are screwing with me at this point …..

Screwing with you yes, but I can assure you I asked them to take it easy on the shrink-wrap and use more paper... seriously :D

Only took 10 minutes this time!

And they snickered and said "Sure Kurt, no problem" 😁

Good News.

@RocketCityCrzrs has the 2F finished. I’m heading up Wednesday to pick it up.

Bad news.

My pallet got weather delayed and I won’t have it until Tuesday. s*** like this really screws me up since I do one at a time. Not only is it a delay but it’s on the lift with no way to remove it with no 3rds.

I think I’ll bite the bullet and do the weatherstripping and doors. My least favorite job but it’s gotta be done.

Fun times. This air hammer screwbit thing is clutch to get 56 year old JIS screws out.

Figuring this out as I go. Last set I did was 5 years ago

It took me about 3 hours to do the first door and a bit under 2 to do the second one after getting some practice.

Next up. Top gaskets and weatherstrip

Found some match books in the defrost and a comb in the roof gasket lol

The remnant of the headliner is powder.

The steering box itself is tight and leak free but the early center arms get lots of slack and the rebuild kits are long gone.

That is unless you know parts hoarders like @FJ40GURU

I LOVE stuff like this.

Got the center arm rebuilt. That was a little more fun than I was expecting but it’s tight as new now.

I had the rear axle bearings in the freezer so they tapped in nice and easy.

Tracking has the pallet on truck for delivery but my dock closes at 5.

Tomorrow am at dawn I head to get the motor. Im staying at Rocket City HQ and will head back with the heart of this 45 Thursday

I’ll go get this pallet myself if nothing shakes loose while I’m gone.

Oh yeah I got the tie rods all pre adjusted and ready. Also added the Koito H4s to the grill as well as some new running light housings and bulbs but reused the nicely patina ‘ed white lenses.
