I really hate to do this, but I'm trading my 40 for two kids. I need to get something safe a practical for carrying a newborn and a two year old around. I will get another 40 when they are older but this is what I have to do for now.

Has anyone checked out this FJ40? It has been listed and relisted on Craigslist for some time now. He started out at $6,900.00 and is now down to $5,600.00.

I have a 72 fj 40 that I am selling. Last summer I took the body off and sprayed the chasis. This is a 77 with 2f, 4 speed, disc brakes; frame off restoration in 2001; in storage since (last registered in 2003), recently updated with Cool Cruisers custom FJ40 rear bench seat, new old stock Specialty Top soft top and doors; has custom steel half doors for summer; frame coated in POR 15, powdercoated parts, custom sliders, see pic of the tub its rust free top to bottom and front to rear (including the metal under the rear quarter panel protection; I have pics to show how rust free this rig is). Weber, header, electric fuel pump; Toyota non USA distributor with manual timing adjustment knob. New battery, shocks, wheels, tires (Hankook Dynapro 30X9.5X15); CCOT stock height replacement springs. Excellent near new brakes...
I'm having to part with my 40.I am asking 6400.00 obo. My ambition with her was to make a mostly stock daily driver. She is a 79 body and 2F motor on a 73 chassis. The truck starts and idles well after warm up and has good acceleration and braking. One of the previous owners ( a welder)did all the diamond plate on back corners and rockers. He also patched rear sill and floor pans. The work is solid if not beautiful. Floor is also coated in bed liner.The BFG 27" AT tires on stock rims are barely worn and include covered spare.(original hubcaps) The truck also has a hard top and ambulance doors, all in good shape and leak free(does need a head liner). I have a 1976 FJ40 305 HO 4 Brl Edlebrock carb after market guages, factory 4speed, Smity bilt SRC bumper, cage and 10 K winch. 31105015 BFG A/T's 60% tread on BLack rock alum 15x8 wheels. Has some rust front fenders and rear quarters ... all typical for an old cruiser .. top of the rear tub is the only strange spot but I have junk yard parts weld in there, also has ALum radiator and electric fan runs super strong.. not top or doors spray painted paint job is a ok looker from 5 ft $4500 OBO

67 fj40 with a tree on the tree. Super reliable inline six (f). New soft top Pakistan bows and new khaki vinyl OEM type Pakistan top. Rhino Pto winch... it works, but never tried it. Needs cable. Original front and rear data that are in great shape. Aftermarket roll bar that looks great. Newer starter... newer clutch. That's all I've done to it in four years I've owned it. Will need a rear lip. 150 bucks from awl tech. The corner of the rockets need small patching too. The frame is clean and in great shape, so is the rest of the panels and doors. I've driven the truck 70 mph to north Carolina, a few events with upstate in south Carolina, a several long trips in GA...

Warn Hubs up front ,brakes need pumping to work! No top ! or doors great rig down the road for hunting....I have an extra hood for $50 if this ones too rough. SOLD...I am listing this for my dad. He has a 73 FJ40 that is tiltled as a 1978 Fj40 because the frame and engine are from 78, but the body and interior are 1973. Here is a list of what has been done:

I'm looking for a BJ40 to use as a daily driver. I want something as original as possible (orig paint would be great, but if repainted well with original color ok too). No rust buckets, but some minor rust ok. Looking for something pretty reliable but understand that these things are getting older every day. Sensible modifications are great of course PS, AC, etc. Want original interior or close to. Spend up to $9k ish. I also have a 88 FJ62 with 129K that is absolutely rust free and beautiful and stock for possible trade. I'm located in Nashville, TN. Thanks!
