This whole thread was a good read, I am in the same position as the OP, I am looking at the 265/70/17 as well, not enough options at 65(ST Maxx, BFG, GY Duratrac). I have narrowed it down to the Nitto Trail Grapplers or the Cooper STT Pro. I have no plans to lift, just want a look and performance for 2 season use, from Oct. to March. Then I will put the AT's back on. I am planning a trip over the McGruder trail in August!

Tall, slightly skinny, spare fits, tiniest of rubbing on front splash guard but plenty of clearance all around, generally lighter than comparable size - this is why I went with this size.
Anyone try the newer Kuhmo AT51. Highly rated on Tire Rack. But smaller sample as its newer. Looks Promising.
