It’s not any fun...

What's worse is when its almost empty, the pressure is backing up not allowing you to fill up. And your in the desert, and needing to go places..... in a hurry!

To be on topic, love the lock box idea. Cant wait to see the finish product.

By the way I think this is a prime example of why people should always have an extinguisher in their rig (preferably within reach of the driver) at all times. Mine was on the ground just behind me while I was recording that video and one other guy brought his over just in case. Something as simple as venting vapors from your gas tank could turn catastrophic in a matter of minutes. I would much rather put out a small gas fire under my truck and suffer a scorched bumper and arm hair, than watch it go up in flames.

Oh man.
I almost PM'd you in January since I needed one and then thought better about bugging you again.
I eventually got a Safari Strap.
You (@NLXTACY) do great work.
Wish I could have waited.
It will be great for hundy owners.
Thanks for revisiting it.

Love the idea but I need to see a photo of the final design with an extinguisher mounted to see how much foot-room I'm going to lose.

You don’t “lose” foot room. You gain a foot rest. I originally thought the same way. I was worried about harming cold rolled steel :eyeroll: haha

Jeez that is unbeliveable. Was that your truck? You ought to send that to the NTSB (and Toyota legal). Might be the incentive Toyota needs to issue recall, or TSB. Good evedence of poor evap design. I dont care how old the canister is, no evap system on a modern vehicle should produce those results.

Yes that is my rig, that happened August 10, 2017 at I believe 11,700ft (or somewhere around there) on the trek up to Imogene. And I’ve never thought about doing that but that’s not a bad idea I’m going to look into that thanks! But I agree it really made me second guess how the evap system is designed

Did your charcoal box get flooded when you flooded your rig? I was under the impression only the newer rigs with the Evap canister had boiling and evap system issues.

My 2000 LX never experienced any issues going up Imogene.

I'm interested. Pricing and foot room confirmation pending.

I reported when mine did that. It’s a simple online form. I don’t think enough people complain about it they just take it as normal.

@NLXTACY What do guys usually put in the switch banks on the FEM?
