Where does the red SOLENOID POWER wire connect to? Using EZ Harness

Wondering if you finally got this figured out? (I hope so it's an old thread) I have the same Not so EZ wiring harness and I don't seem to have the faded purplish wire labeled "IGN SW IGN wire" you show attached to the ignition. Where does that wire run to? Fusebox? Where does it go after that?

Right.

Thanks for the information on the electrical!

Here are some pics.

Here you can (kinda) see that I do have the positive cable running from the batt to the center post of the solenoid.

here's a close up on the solenoid. You can see that the positive cable is on the center post and the purple ign start wire is on the spade lug.

As much as it looks like it, that black wire with the blue connector on it is not ground to the firewall! EZ told me to seal that wire and leave it alone! So it's not connected.

The orange wire is the IGN ACC , the purple is the ING START, The Red is the IGN SW POWER, which is where that black wire is spliced to, the pink wire is the IGN SW COIL, and the faded purpleish one is the ING SW IGN wire.

I have them wired to my brand new painless universal ign switch just as the EZ diagram shows.

You need to understand the FJ40 wiring diagram and the zen of the solenoid circuit. This means that the solenoid is on when the engine is on and off when the engine is off. Half of the circuits in the fuse block satisfy these conditions, so all you need is to connect the solenoid to one of them.

I have to agree with Toyotaspeed90,

"There's a possibility that the red "solenoid power" wire is the main power feed wire for the EZ harness/fuse box"

I am in the process of installing an EZwire harness in my 76 with a SBC TBI.
The red heavier gauge solenoid wire feeds the part of the fuse block that is constant power.
I think the confusion is because it says "solenoid".
On GM starters, the big terminal that supplies power to the starter itself is on the solenoid.
It basically would be no different than hooking this wire to the positive side of the battery.

The purple (ignition switch) is what tells the starter to turn on. (Small terminal, GM starter).

Just my 2 cents
