Removed ALL the emission control cr@p from my '77 Aus spec FJ40 [no smog control here ] - re-built the 2F carb and she's now running like a dream :D Next, remove the LPG gas installation, no LPG here

It sure likes anti fatigue mat that is used in restaurants. I've seen it at Costco.
:p <- my 4 year old wanted to add this face

"Biscuit" says Thanks

The same mat is available at Home depot ( $24 for 3X3) or Lowes for $21. Did not look at Costco.

burnttoastburgos even the frame looks badass! Can't wait to see it go together. What engine is that?

Put in the front disc brakes on my 73 FJ40. Used '80 mini truck knuckles, birfs and hubs; and 76-80 cruiser calipers and rotors. Kept the cruiser tie rod using the SB0 starter bushing in the mini truck stearing arm. Reused the 73 FJ40 master cylinder, removing the residual pressure valve from the front circuit. Stops on a dime now. Hardest part was taking apart the inner/outer axles. Had to be more aggressive than I expected.
Thanks to all who have taken the time to post the "how to" info, it made the job easy. Very dirty/greasy job but worth it.

I'd hazard an educated guess that it's a RamJet 350

I was wondering the same about your motor. That looks like a KILLER!!!

Took the top off...painted the bezel and fiberglass top, put on a driver's side seat cover....time to start on the body, began the hunt for a welder...looking like a hobart/miller 140 ...

Destin.................fine looking rig....BTW we need some more outdoor pic 's of it in the woods..........

'63: Made an engine cradle and new tranny mounts, cut out the rear sill, stripped the driver side rear quarter completely to see what hid under the paint (2 tiny spots of thin steel), painted the new motor.

'69: Nothing at all since a '74 Corvette took the spot I had it in last weekend so now the body and frame are stashed away in a corner of the shop.

Fixed the fuel leak on the carb fuel inlet (loose connector) and installed the factory air cleaner. All that's left on the current engine bay list is to get one circuit for the old Weber carb isolated.

Where did you get your replacement Shackle Hanger? Is it oem?

Yes, It is OEM. I got it from 4wheelauto in Edmonton Alberta about 3 years ago, this is old stock from the factory warehouse and is not being replaced as it is being sold, so I don't know how much is left.
