Put a deposit down, agreed on a deal, and im flying to Colorado on Monday to drive her home. Tomorrow I am buying vintage AC and a new front bumper...

tmarx- does your hardtop fit on with that rear rollbar? ..

Yes it does or rather it should when I eventually get my hard top done. When we built the cage we used a friend's 83 BJ42 with hardtop as a live sample reference ... ;)

score 2 OEM canvas doors

Got 2 nice conditions- dont know from what year came- canvas OEM doors, that the 1 owner put aluminum skin on it besides the canvas. i need 1 hinge to installed or do i can use the hinges that my 1976 have right now? Im close to install the OEM canvas top but the canvas are not new,was black -now like grey cos the time-sun....so maybe for the moment i just paint the doors again flat black until time- money for a new canvas arrive

If I can balance out the 80L-tank-induced cruiser lean, it would have dropped about 60mm from before. Including the removal of the 50mm body lift ages ago, thats a drop of 110mm. :)

Did not touch a wrench and left it in the garage next to a surprise that my :princess: ( she is one in a million) rented me for the weekend to celebrate my 50th Birthday.....I wanted one my whole life, but when kids came along, and soon college- looks like this is as close as I will get for a while. What a vehicle. never found out the year, but it was a stock carerra, convertable and it FLEW.

She's a keeper! Was it as fun to drive as the 40?

I won't say better or worse but different. The 40 is my "anti technology" medicine. I love the manual steering, ride like a stone and absolute utilitarian nature of everything on it. But it is hard to argue with the precision and power of a 911. I tired with all I had, but could not get the wheels to break free on any turn. It was on rails. Never took it too fast, but it got to 75 faster than anything I have ever driven.

It did answer one question for me personally, when I finally get one ( Lord willing) it will be a newer model, and not a “classic” to restore. The FJ40 scratches that itch for me.
