Ah…. Thank-you.![]()
I remember you commenting about the screw orientation on my gauge cluster and my wiper blade disorientation. I figured the window cranks would appeal to the OCD..

Oh yes, you mean the Warden. I’m familiar with her! “Stinky truck gas smell” has been on the to-do list for a long time. That’s not my garage.
That is the domain of the “Dark One”, aka the House Frau and dictator for life. The Mule rolls on thin ice when it come to occupying 2nd bay in the Barbie Garage. I get up every morning and run a perimeter patrol around 2.0 just to make sure it’s keeping its fluid(s) internal.

awesome work. Mind sharing your sources for the items to assemble the doors. I have both old and new doors, now I just need to cannibalize the old doors to build the new ones.I bet they’re related. Maybe not in the traditional sense but, I’ll go out on a limb here and say they both have XX chromosomes. I mean, what are the odds…![]()

thank you Sir! Now I need to order the door seals from City Racer and the window felts (OE?).To the best of my recollection:
eBay purchase: stateside inventory. Probably out of Columbia. Non OE Black door cards with questionable parental linage.
OE black bezels and screw. CCOT as I recall.
OE male clips inserts / OE female inserts. SOR
Non OE Window cranks. SOR
Non OE door pulls/handles of unknown origin. SOR
It's pretty hard to spot a bright yellow 40 in front of you in full sunlight, right?Fixed this last night after mixing it up with a triple lane changer that drove straight into the back of me a couple of weeks ago. FJ40 - 1 Audi - 0
One new TEQ lens & gasket and 15 minutes of my time and I’m rolling again.

You’re gonna luv it, I have a sniper on my 72 FJ 55, runs great.
I bought after market rubber push in upper window seals and they suck. I'm looking for another solution or might clean up my old felts with the chrome edge.thank you Sir! Now I need to order the door seals from City Racer and the window felts (OE?).
I wanted the fiber board door cards but they sent me the plastic ones with no vinyl on the inside of the cabin. Oh well.Initial adjustment:
Something that worked for me and turned to be a 99% solution. When I added the male inserts/clips I made sure the clip was fully seated in the opening pic 1. The corners are oriented on about a 45* angle. Pic 2 is good shot of the orientation.
Then, starting with bottom of the card, I inserted the clips from corner to corner. I tried initially starting on the top corner to corner. Soon realized I couldn’t see the bottom (duh)of the card. Regrouped and adjusted fire. Starting from the bottom going corner to corner made it easy/simple.

That's a bummer. I got the City Racer window runs and they were absolutely perfect for my '75. I went OEM for the inner and outer felts.I bought after market rubber push in upper window seals and they suck. I'm looking for another solution or might clean up my old felts with the chrome edge.

Well I got it all back together today. So far so good. Even gave it a fresh coat of paint to make it look like a real remanAfter 4 years of sitting on the gasket kit, I finally went down the rabbit whole that is the mini truck power steering gear rebuild. And as luck would have it, the 4 year old gasket kit is not complete enough lol. New OEM kit on the way.
