What have you done to your 200 Series this week?

I hear you on the angle of the top spacer. Makes me also think the added shock inclination angle is reducing the effective spring rate. Probably something like 5-10% underspung and underdamped?

I feel like it can sometimes even get as high as 20%. The bad angle is most obvious when I look at the curve on the front coil, which has always bothered me.

Reason I never order a car with a sunroof. Alas the LC200 has one (will never or hardly ever be used). Obvious why in the winter and I don't need to attract the state bird in the summer. Given cost and since I bought the car with 68k miles I might just get the "tool". Thanks

As to the Macan I just replaced the rear air suspension bag that cracked by our past -56F winter. Relatively straight forward other than getting the nitrogen, tank, hoses, regulator, connectors... I buy Porsche because I enjoy the pain :bang:

I truly hate sunroofs. I NEVER open it. And all it does is add one more item to maintain.

It’s 1000F here. Who the hell is staring at the sun?

Sunroof question. I have never opened the sunroof on my 18LC. Is that something I should do every so often?

I have a '98 with 310k miles...haven't opened the sunroof in 25+ years and s***-scared to do it now.
On my 2021, I open/close the sunroof every now and again to keep the gears from freezing, and I'll lubricate the assembly with every oil change. I didn't do that on the '98 and wish I had. Both cars are garaged so I fortunately haven't had drain issues to resolve. Crossing fingers and hope the '98 doesn't develop a clogged drain that forces me to open that sunroof.

No problem with 5W30 at the Toyota dealership. With my LX600 I have gotten a bit of push back a time or two about 5w30 but as soon as I mention the TTV6 problems, they don't say another word.
I’m in OKC as well, what dealership is doing the work on your LC’s?

12180-38030 is an oil fill cap with 5w-30 written clearly on the top. This is enough to convince some dealers that's what is supposed to be in the engine.

I’m no sunroof fan either. The only time I’ve found it remotely useful is to open it after the vehicle baked in the sun and it’s the 7th level of hell hot in there… it’s just a extra window to allow heat to escape. I’ve done this twice. The sunroof is utters on a bull as far as I’m concerned.

Always garaged parked so hopefully I won’t have issues but I feel like I should run that cleaning thing down there sooner or later.

Mine sits in the garage as well. I think I’ve opened the sunroof once since I bought it last year.

I really don’t want to go messing with anything but cleaning the drains would probably add some peace of mind.

Easy, almost free insurance.

I am a huge sunroof fan, I use mine all the time always works super smoothly never have any concerns about opening and closing and I use mine 15+ times a month when the weather is above 50 degrees outside.

some say the mod for superiority to 5W30 is not complete until the cap is installed.
so I am going to grab one since parts are 15% off right now.

For where I live 0w-40 A40 spec for turbo diesel skid steer, Macan S and LC200. LiquiMoly 5w-40 C40 spec for 992 (driving limited to above -20F).

I like the blue writing lexus cap personally. Makes me feel exotic.

Not sure if that's the one being referenced here.

May Long Weekend seemed like the perfect time for some AHC Long Travel! Following the threads of @MTKID and @TeCKis300 and incredible parts from @turbo8, my brother and I installed the following:

- OEM Shocks F/R
- OEM Dampener Globes
- 20mm Spacer Stack (2x10mm OEM)
- EE Rear Shock Spacers
- Perry Parts Bumps F/R
- Toytec Tundra Extended Brake Lines
- Dobinsons 30mm Rear Coil Spacers
- EIM Keith Panhard Correction Kit

Then...slap some 37s on a set of 705 Beadgrips and a quick stop at the world's tallest teepee! ... 😀

First mod, wheels and tires are on.

Got Evo Dakar Zero 17 inch with a very conservative +40 offset, wrapped in Falkens Wildpeak R/T01 285/70/17.

I originally wanted to go with Methods wheels, but the shipping and customs duties made them way more expensive than the Evos. I don't plan on doing any rock crawling with this rig so the tires are probably a bit overkill for the type of off-tarmac driving I do (mostly forest service roads).

All in, I'm quite happy with the final result. Truck doesn't look like a minivan anymore :hillbilly:

Starting to install some wiring for a DC power supply and for something else so I made a mount for the breakers. I drilled an additional hole (4" on center) in the battery clamp so to mount a piece of 1/4" ABS (5" x 6").

After wiring everything for the DC power supply. Note the ABS plate attaches to my drawer system via two magnets.

Is it easy to configure the XS1400 for the right charge curve for LiFePo4 batteries? I know the Victron system is pretty configurable, so wondering if it’s a simple configuration selection, or some complex setting of CC / CV curve numbers. Like the clean wiring BTW!

The unit is quite configurable. Link to the manual. I am using it as a power supply rather than a battery charger. So I am setting the output voltage and amperage plus the maximum input current.

What tires and what did the cutting process look like for the 37s?

Looks great!

If needed, I'll raise/widen the rear wheel wells.

I can re route the air pump intake tubes and bend some harness tabs to keep the air pumps in the same spot. So far, full steering is achieved at full bump. View attachment 4141259
How far up did you raise the tub?
