So I’m attempting to grease the driveshafts.
Got two u joints done for the rear one. Straightforward. fresh grease started coming out around 25 pumps.
The slip joint .. I did about 40 pumps and I don’t see an any movement. Not sure if I should keep going.

Car is on the ground in park. Any advice on what to do?
Should I remove the zerk?

In the meantime, I’m gonna try to tackle the U joints on the front shaft.

The slip joint should only be 8 to 10 pumps or you can overdo and put axial strain on the transfer case and diffs…

Suggest you bleed off any pressure at the grease fittings of the slip joints by depressing the little ball check with something thin, waiting a while for any grease back flow. As part of this driving a bit and breaking hard is a good way to telescope in the drive shafts and ensure any excess grease is bled off.

Ya def overfilled.
I took the zerk fitting off and a little bit of grease came right out.
Put the truck in Low from high and not much more came out.
Drove it around for a couple of mins around the block with the fitting off and more came out. Will wipe that off and drive again to see.

PS the zerk fitting is 7mm.

There's a trick to getting the front driveline oriented correctly..

surprisingly the the U joints weren't hard at all.
I just pulled up in the driveway and put the truck in High. went underneath and the zerks were oriented like this..

front shaft
1st - 8 o clock - perfect, locknlube went in easily (pic below)
3rd - 8 o clock - came back to this one..
rear shaft
1st - 3 o clock i think? - took the transfer case heat shield off and was able to put the fitting over it.
3rd - easy
Then I let the truck roll back in neutral a tiny bit and the 3rd zerk on the front shaft was at 3 o clock and like @bloc said..i went in over the crossmember and got the fitting. (2nd pic)

drive 2 also outputted some grease.
when should I put the zerk back on? should i wait till nothing comes out? or will it continue to come out without the zerk?

After AHC lowering and raising I would think 15 min or so should be fine to let any excess flow out.

Then with the zerks fitted and after some subsequent driving and braking I would double check for any back flow by depressing the check.
