I just saw those the other day. Nice design!
I thought so. Another mudder recommended the Kaon ones but they were out of stock when I made my last order from them so I’ve been looking for alternatives. I’ll have the boards on them soon and will be running a lot of dirt so I’ll see how they perform and report back.

I happened to have bought the Kaon ones a while back, but never got around to the write up with measurements, etc. I got some mounting stuff from Amazon (breaking my own rule about NOT ordering anything automotive related from them due to counterfeit/cheap products/faked reviews), but so far so good! I mounted them to the existing Yakima Mega ultimate loading super warrior rack that came with my HE with stainless hardware and used threadlocker after dialing in the spacing orientation. I have to clear 7' overhangs regularly and this setup gets me within a gnat's @$$ of that. The hardware included with the Kaon folding mounting kit is pretty good. I didn't even know there was another folding mount option.

started installing the SDHQ sliders. Pretty easy or so I thought. Was on the last step on the first side and I dropped the welded nut bracket into the frame, oops. Tried fishing it out for an hour but decided to button it up for the day. Both the previous owner and the guys at sdhq recommended the same harbor freight telescoping magnet, I’ll give it a shot tomorrow after I do the passenger side.

I have these sitting in the garage right now just waiting on my LFD bars that arrive today. Take THAT you useless 7' tall garage door!
For real. Mine barely fits as it is and every time I’d park after a trip where we’ve been towing I’d rake the hell out of that open door because the springs had a tiny bit of rebound from being unladen… I think my traction boards have more use scraping the garage door than real world recoveries.

My fear is I'll get home tired and late and forget they're up there. Zero chance I'd make it in without significant damage. The scars of pulling in under my parents' deck with my BRAND new (literally minutes old) mountain bike on the roof many...many...too many...moons ago have never healed, though ;) I'm also mounting some awning l-brackets upside down with Ironman4x4's QR brackets so I can swap an awning between the Cruiser and my truck camper. Will keep the mounts no higher than the x-bars while allowing for easy mounting once I'm out of the garage. My eyeball mock-up says I SHOULD still be able to open the doors. Should.

I made my own brackets out of aluminum plate and long bolts and attach the setup to the top of my front runner rack and similar to you guys, I've got some nice gouge marks along the entrance to my 7' garage, where I have to always remember to put the LX in 'Low' to make it in without scraping. I miss my 8' garage door entrance in the house I built...divorce is a bitch... Those folding ones look awesome.

I finished up a substantial (for me) amount of fluid changing yesterday. I hit 50k miles and wanted a good baseline going forward so I did both diffs, transfer case, oil change (swapped to 5w-30), and transmission (thanks Robert). This thing holds a lot of liquid...

Agreed, great service and family owned business in NC. I have their kit in my 2018 LC, it's like having a new vehicle. Some minor quirks at times but well worth it.
What are some of the minor quirks? I have a 2018 with an older CarPlay conversion and considering upgrading. I want it to start in CarPlay and show the low speed cameras when slowing down. Also switching between iPhones seamlessly would be nice if it's available.

Get the Hamilton Automotive one. Starts right up, easy install, switches between CarPlay and cameras quickly and makes life great. Their customer support is also fantastic if you ever need it.

Lol definitely
It's weird.. they definitely painted some areas, I'd assume to hide rust.. but the unpainted sections look so great I don't know why they would.

Congrats either way!

Yeah, they painted/treated the frame but its extremely clean, no bubbling or even surface rust on anything, not even the tow hooks. Coming from a midwest 4th gen 4runner, I will never own a rusty off roader ever again lol.
White LCs are slower than black LCs, but white Supras are faster than black Supras. Just sayin'....
Haha weird how that works. I'm in the market for an Anthracite hardtop now, hopefully that'll land me somewhere in the middle lol

I used to be one of those MSB "monkey s*** brown" haters in the 90s until I saw friends anthracite hardtop in person. Now Im a believer 🤣

Time to disown son, or let him go "mudding" in a $500 corolla
