Looks good...this is what I used for my startup.

Brought home for my partner a 2015 GX460 Luxury and this is what she brought home for me. No idea on the status of the deer. Body not found.
Can't really afford to fix it right now. Needs a new bumper, bumper insert, and a new headlight (broke the mounting tab off). Going through insurance would be over $1K since I would have to buy another headlight to match.
So I epoxied the crack, put eternabond tape on the back (used for RV roof repairs, nearly impossible to remove) and put some silver vinyl over the cracks on the front. Looks like ass close up but not really visible from 10ft away. Should hold until I decide to order replacement parts or finally upgrade to a heavy duty bumper.

Replaced the spiral cable, and my wife can again honk her displeasure at the wonderful drivers in our area. I was ready to do plugs, but only had an hour, and one look at number 8 with two coolant lines running over it made me decide to wait for a more appropriate time. I knew thinking “these are going to be way easier than the 100” was probably premature.

8 is tricky but you don’t have to disconnect any coolant/ac lines or anything. Release a few harness tabs, gently move a few things out of the way of pulling the coil, rotate coil as you pull it out, remove plug, install in reverse order.

How about a pic at night from drivers seat?
Ok I drove it at dusk/nighttime for the first time yesterday, drove home from LA after getting the wife a new benzo. I will say these things rock. I will try to get a pic but they fill the ground out so well and even cover/throw light well into the “ditch” zone. Don’t worry @Boston Mangler team no ditch lights for life.

I have a mild lift (6112) and was worried the fogs would throw light too high but they are not. I’ll try and get some pictures tonight.

Been contemplating these for awhile and finally pulled the trigger, didn't expect the fight from the stock ring bolts but highly recommend these from @turbo8

Same, recently got a set of these from turbo8 and they look amazing, as do all parts from him.

Now I just need to find a set of Rock Warrior wheels to put them on 😄 Looks great!

A little late in the year, but I successfully got my 2010 underbody coated before driving her on any of these salted roads.

Surface Shield plus the minwax spray gun and a cheap 6 gallon pancake compressor.

She still looks great at 260,000 miles, and I intend to keep her that way.

How many years have you been using Surface Shield? I just discovered it fall 2024. After a little research, applied it before winter and have been sold ever since. And applying it to my other vehicles.

@urinalcake I also started using it before last winter. I've used CRC Marine for a decade with good results, but the Repair Geek YouTube reviews convinced me to switch over. It's easier to apply inside the frame rails, it's easy enough to buy in bulk and I like that lanolin is a more natural product.

Played around with the nav startup and screen-off screens. I’d really like to find the old Cruiser logo (like the heritage has on the C pillar) with plain white letters.

so cool! how did you do that? My screen just went out, dealer not sure what happened, but I've got the "Checking SD Card" error but everything else works and dealer is quoting $3.2k for a refirb part to go in as it's discontinued now. Trying to figure out what to do...

For mine it uses a USB drive in the USB port. I’m not certain about the newer models, though.

Sunday night buzzed on Facebook marketplace = Monday Morning deals! Picked up a nearly brand new set of SDHQ sliders! Yes I wanted BB and I still consider them the best but I couldn’t pass this deal up. Brand new gloss powder coat, chromoly tubing, no drilling install.

Compared to the Budbuilt sliders these only have three points of connection to the frame where the BB’s have six. No comparison as to who’s is stronger. Am I traversing a rock quarry? Probably not. Do I want a little piece of mind on the trail and in the Costco parking lot? Yes. These also include a nice little slider for the rear trailing arm mounting point. Overall a pretty slick setup. Hope to install them tomorrow.

Stopped at Juanita’s on the way back for some Mexican food. Man Encinitas looks totally different!

December and the temps are in the 50s. So I changed the oil and rotated the tires. I used my spiffy Stahlbus drain kit and my newly acquired (i.e. used) Eagle Stainless Steel Can for the oil. Also put the winter shoes on the wife's buggy. Zoom-zoom.

Note: add a hose clamp to the drain nipple. The tube warms up and can come off. Another person had it come off mid draining leaving a gallon of oil on the floor.

I bought a 2020 LX570 and installed the Hamilton Conversion Kit. Such a great product.

That looks awesome!!! I watched they clips on YT, but their website does not list screen replacement kits for an LC :-/
Wouldn't it be rude if I asked where and for how much you got that kit? Did you do the install yourself?

thanks!

I bought it directly from Hamilton.
This is the conversion kit, a complete screen replacement. About $1200.
I installed it.
I also have installed their upgrade kits on our 2015 GX460 and 2015 LC200. These kits utilize the existing screens but integrate carplay into the system. They are less than $600 each for those kits.
Hamilton makes really nice stuff. Super helpful customer service also!

Agreed, great service and family owned business in NC. I have their kit in my 2018 LC, it's like having a new vehicle. Some minor quirks at times but well worth it.

I recently mounted some foldng maxtrax mounts from Overland Kitted, they seem solid and work as advertised. I grew tired of catching the garage door with the fixed position pins I have been running.
